[opensuse] NTP, KDE 4.9,and NetworkManager on 12.2

On openSUSE 12.1 with KDE 4.9 (same with 4.8 and earlier) when I start my network via NetworkManager (wired or wireless), NTP seems not quite right. I is runnuig. But it does not set the time right unless I restart it. It has been this way for a while (months). Here is a sample of what I mean: # rcntp status redirecting to systemctl ntp.service - LSB: Network time protocol daemon (ntpd) Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/ntp) Active: inactive (dead) since Fri, 31 Aug 2012 21:13:26 +0200; 4h 39min ago Process: 2309 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/ntp stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 1274 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/ntp start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) CGroup: name=systemd:/system/ntp.service # date Sat Sep 1 01:52:46 CEST 2012 # rcntp restart redirecting to systemctl # date Fri Aug 31 23:53:46 CEST 2012 The final date after the restart is correct. [opensuse] Seamonkey locks up

Seamonkey openSUSE was recently upgraded to version 2.12. Since then, I've noticed the email app frequently locks up solid for several seconds. This happens both when reading and composing email. When it locks up, CPU History, in System Monitor, hits the ceiling and stays there. Has anyone else noticed this? [opensuse] Remote login problem

This problem has been around since 12.1. Is there any chance of getting it fixed? Remote login to a desktop has long been a feature with Unix & Linux. It'd really be nice to have it work again. I have to keep an old system around solely for this function. Here's the latest bug report. [opensuse] Icon borders

Hi I've got a query about the sizing of the icon background that appears when you mouse over an icon. Is there a way to size it without affecting the actual size of the icon image? [opensuse] Newegg scam - OT but good warning for you

Back on the 15th of August I pirchased a new 750 watt PSU from Newegg. It was a two day sale at a reduced price and a $20 cash rebate with free shipping. Great deal. After trying for several days to arrange for my rebate, including on-line and phone calls, I finally reached a sales rep that told me: Yes I had ordered the PSU on the 15th but my order was not processed until the 16th. the following day, and was not entitled to the cash rebate. [opensuse] kmix using 96-100% of cpu

[opensuse] No wifi on Dell Inspiron mini

Hi all, I borrowed a Dell Inspiron Mini netbook for next week. I managed to install oS 12.1 with KDE from an USB stick. There are some problems however, the most severe is the lack of wifi. I cannot config the touchpad, apparantly the oS does not recognize it as a laptop. Did anyone out there succeded with those things? Is there any experience with that netbook and other distros? [opensuse] broken update to Firefox 15.0

Hi 12.1 with zypper update yesterday. Firefox crashes every time it is closed: "We're sorry Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts." During the session however, it works fine. Why the crash message? Anyone else? The 15.0 on 12.2 RC2 works OK; no crash at the end of the session. It just closes.
