[opensuse] Firefox crash

I am running oss 11.4 with and Mozilla Firefox from the MozillaFirefox-4.0.1-1.1.i586 RPM. Everytime I start firefox, it crashes and the crash reporter kicks in. When I start it from a terminal, the same issue occurs and there are no errors present in the terminal window. I can install firefox by downloading the tarball from the Mozilla web site and untarring it and that one runs fine. Is anyone else having the same issue? It might be supported by Sane. Is not - that is, not directly. It's Kodak i1220 scanner, lsusb finds it as ID 040a:600b. I'll try sane under 11.4, but until now I always had to install the Kodak driver and scantwain (actually scantwain itself is not really needed, I rather use gscan2pdf) before other tools can see it. Kodak has an install program, but it's 32bit only (I can live with that) and it pulls quite a lot of dependancies, QT 3 being the first of the list. Then puppet takes over to update the cache directory location and trigger the package updates. That said, most of the time ad-hoc installations are done by cloning an existent system. [opensuse] Evolution 3 - double-click pdf attach failure

Sirs, I noticed a wrong, or at least an unexpected behaviour whenever I try to open PDF attachments into email message with Evolution: Instead Acrobat Reader, Evince or other compliant PDF readers get starting is instead Gedit that starts reporting an error about wrong UTF char-set type then failing to open the attached document. In order to open PDF attachment I must right-click on it and choose the option "open-with". Is it a normal Evolution behaviour? [opensuse] Parallel port & virtual machine

Hi, I'm considering a new laptop to replace my current laptop and my desktop. One of the requirements is a parallel port because I have an older application that's copy-protected with a dongle. Unfortunately, modern laptops don't have parallel ports anymore but I hope the dockingstation of the HP Probook 6550b laptop has a real parallel port. The application is a windows application, so I want to run windows in a virtual machine. Now I run an older version of VMware workstation that supports the parallel port, but I wondered if there are other virtual machines that support parallel ports. I looked at virtualbox, but I think this does not support parallel ports. I hope the ATI video works well with Opensuse 11.4, I have seen reports of people having it running. Any pointers ?
