[opensuse] Funny/Sad story about Philips SPC530NC webcam on 11.4

The funny is that finally I can use my Philips SP530NC Webcam, including its embedded microphone within openSUSE 11.4 The sad is that to do it I have once again to use Microsoft Windows Xp as VirtualBox guest! Several months and kernels passed since my bug-report, but sadly nothing changed http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/wmeLDzcjeC9ggvstjU9V The same identical issue is still present on 11.4. [opensuse] Error launching YaST modules after upgrade to 11.4

I have upgraded my 11.3 desktop to 11.4. It appears to have gone off without a hitch. However, when I try to launch many modules from YaST (like Install/Remove Software), I'm getting the following error dialog: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'YUIPluginException' what(): Couldn't load plug-in gtk YaST got signal 6 at YCP file Wizard.ycp:707 /sbin/yast2: line 399: 12837 Aborted $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS Any ideas as to what could be causing this and how to fix? -- Cheers, Trey ---- For the judgement of mankind is as relentless to the weakness that falls short of a recognized renown, as it is jealous of the arrogance that aspires higher than its due. Since a recent update my laptop is no longer connecting to the Internet on my home network when it boots. I run 'route' and it tells me # route Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface fast-home * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 link-local * 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 loopback * 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 lo But no default Router 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0 I have to put that in by hand. [opensuse] What causes the udisk-deamon to start at bootup

Short of removing the useless udisks package, how can I prevent the udisk-deamon from starting. I have a number of SuSE-11.3 and 11.4 machines all of which have udisks installed. Some do not have the udisks-deamon running some do. Whats the trigger?
