[opensuse] weird mouse cursor

My mouse cursor in KDE4 suddenly looks like a long vertical shaded line. It does not change back when I change cursor themes. Any idea how I got this? [opensuse] Time Issues 11.3

Howdy Running 11.3 with kde 4.4.4, and I've run into an issue with the system clock. I have the hardware clock set to local and of course the local time i'm on CDT, United States, Texas. I have used yast to set the timezone to Central (Chicago). I have dbl check /etc/localtime and /etc/sysconfig/clock, that it is pointing to central time zone. When the computer boots, the system clock is always set 1 hour in advance, the hardware clock is ok, until I shut down then of course the system time is written back to the hardware clock and now the hardware clock is off again. When update to 11.3 it worked ok, after adding the digital clock applet and using the adjust / date time in that applet is when the time started acting up. I have since removed this applet and removed config for it. At this point I'm thinking to turn off writing of system clock back to hardware clock, this is a band-aid fix, to me. [opensuse] fetchmail daemon fails to start on 11.3

I installed a sever with openSUSE 11.3 and we use fetchmail on it. But when I try to start fetchmail, I get the following: --<snip>-- #rcfetchmail start Starting fetchmailfetchmail: can't find a password for fetchmail@/var/log/fetchmail. startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/bin/fetchmail: 3 --<snip>-- Any idea how to get the daemon to start? [opensuse] YaST partitioner

I really like YaST partitioner because it brings so many aspects of management together, so I use it quite a lot. In doing so I've noticed a couple of points and wanted to check whether anybody here had any information about them before I spend time trawling through bugzilla (they're not true bugs, more wishlist). (1) I still use the command line for various tasks alongside the partitioner. When I change anything via the command line, partitioner's view becomes out of date, which is expected. But the only way I've found to update the view is to close partitioner and restart it. It would be nice to have a refresh button. I'm using 11.2 so perhaps this is already available? (2) I like the Graph feature but I get confused about the file format, because I use it infrequently. The save dialog shows files of type .gv while the generated file is actually a DOT file. It would be useful if the dialog showed .dot files and/or if the help screen told users what the file format was and what application could be used to produce an image from the file. [opensuse] rndis usbnet modules

Dear All, I am running OpenSuSE 11.3. Since I have an HTC legend Android phone, I want to use the usb tethering from it with my Linux box. In order to do this, I looked for an usb-rndis-lite-kmp package for 11.3. I did not find one (I only found one for 11.2 in the SynCE repository), so I just took the spec file and adapted it for 11.3. The module was built and everything works fine. I can us the tethering from the phone. Unfortunately, there are some modules from the kernel that I can't use any more. For example, once I modprobe the modules from the rpm package (usbnet, cdc_eth and rndis_host), if I modprobe sierra_net, I get: [90376.255544] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_change_mtu [90376.255847] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_open [90376.255932] sierra_net: disagrees about version of symbol usbnet_skb_return [90376.255934] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_skb_return [90376.256121] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_tx_timeout [90376.256505] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_start_xmit [90376.256664] sierra_net: disagrees about version of symbol usbnet_get_endpoints [90376.256665] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_get_endpoints [90376.256857] sierra_net: Unknown symbol usbnet_stop The problem seems to lie in the usbnet module. Run 'powertop' to see why the machine is being woken up when it is supposedly 'idle' Here's my "idle" (sorry, the mouse was the click-to-copy-paste) I sit at watch and its pretty constant. [opensuse] KDE3 Question

Afternoon All, I read on the list that there is a kde3 repo available. Is there any documentation as to how to go about going back to kde3 vice using kde4 and how to enable the kde3 repo as well as turning off the kde4 stuff? Any way to install OS11.3 using only kde3?
