[opensuse] How to sync (un)installed packages between two machines.

Hi I've got two machines, both the same OS (opensuse 11.2), arch (x86_64), and set of repositories/priorities. I'd like to sync the (un)installed packages between the two machines. I.e., I want Machine#2 to be 'upgraded' to have "all & only" the packages that are installed on Machine#1, adding, removing, or modifying as required. Starting as different installations, the two boxes should end up with a fully sync'd set of packages. What's the right/efficient way to go about this? [opensuse] Printer toner question

Hi all, I'm thinking about getting a color laser printer. It has 4 toners, ie black, red, yellow, and blue. I've never had a color one before, so my question is do all the toners run low at the same time? They are about 150€ each and if I had to replace them all at once it would hurt. Anyway, I'm looking at a very good deal on a Samsung CLX-6210FX. Does anyone know anything about this printer and Linux? Hello: This regards to openSUSE 11.1. I have working network (ie. Can this problem be related to the issue that I apparently can't use network after running cisco vpnclient? It looks to me that this network ports are not the problem. [opensuse] 11.2: can't add SSL-exception to Firefox

Hi, I'm running oS 11.2 with KDE 4.3. I installed webmin 1.500 and try to access it via Firefox (3.5.6-5.1.x86_64). I get this incredibly nonsensely "dangerous site" warning. Of course I proceed "I know the risk", "Add Exception". But nothing happens. >From other sites, I know that there used a window to pop up and the unknown certificate was shown and could be added. Now nothing happens - no popup window, no adding possible. BTW, when the respective buttons are labeled with other texts, I am sorry, I re-translated them from the german UI... With Opera, everything works fine. Even when I generate another certificate and even certificate authority via Opera, no popup window appears, no certificate can be imported. Export via Opera and Import in FF work, but still "dangerous site", no popup, the login page is not displayed in FF. I wonder if anyone else saw this... [opensuse] nfcapd and no open port after start.

Hi, I've no idea how to continue with my problem with nfcapd. It is configured to run on any IP on my machine on port 2055. But on that port it is not listen. Running on Opensuse 11.1 AMD 2x64 cores. [opensuse] is it generally recommended to write software that NOT store temporary files in home directory?

Dear all I was wondering is there a best practice or conventional suggestion that software should not write temporary files in user's home directory, but do it on /tmp/ or /var/tmp? I ask this because when I want to backup a live user profile usually it fails thanks to file size change during backup. Most of them are temporary files. In my case it is a bit difficult to back it up by asking the user to log out, because I can only access their computers in working hour, and they are working in working our, especially backup takes perhaps 1 hour, and I don't want to interrupt them by 1 hour. After working hour they took back their notebooks. I start to think, that is it by design backup should be when user not logged in, or is there exist a convention of not using ~/.app as temp but software designers tends to ignore that?
