[opensuse] Visiting HTML / HTTP Links from KMail Brings Firefox Window to KMail's Desktop

Hi, I know this issue came up several months ago, but I don't recall enough to track it down. I also remember that I did not have the reported symptom on my 10.0 system but do, now that I'm running 11.1. To recap, when I click on a http URL in a message in KMail the link is properly directed to Firefox, but unfortunately the window in which the link is opened is moved to the desktop in which KMail is running. I don't want this behavior and would like to disable it. How can I do so? [opensuse] Fonts unreadable in windows apps running on wine

In openSuSE 11.1, 32 bits, the fonts are unreadable in windows apps running on wine, thus making unusable the app. I have installed the same app on a 64 bits PC, the same OS, and this problem does not exist. Hi, I'm wondering what is the minimal complement of packages I need to install to run the GTK font preferences application so I can configure the fonts for those GTK applications I run (that do not themselves include sufficient typographic controls). I'm probably going to answer my one question but why can't MS fonts be included in Linux distros? Does anyone know if AHCI is built into the Linux Kernel that comes with openSUSE 11.1? [opensuse] GTK issue in OSS 11.1 causes Firefox print to crash

Running Firefox 3.05 on openSuse 11.1. Any time I do a file -> print preview or file -> print, Firefox crashes. Is anyone else seeing this? I had run into a similar problem with openSuse 10.3, and fiddling with different gtk versions helped resolve this - I hope this is a similar issue and someone can report a known good GTK version that alleviates this problem. Hi, I have a Victor DV camera from which I wish to download the videos to my hard disk. I connected the camera to my pc using the firewire cable and nothing happened. [opensuse] Just installed 11.1 wow, weird

I have two complaints.. There is something peculiar w/ Firefox... as in it can't see ANY website... and , oddly that doesn't effect Konqui which is busily getting me to the Novell Website, tho it doesn't recognize the login info, not even as cut n paste from the email I got from Novell seconds before. Even odder, to me anyway, is the problem I have attempting ANY add repositories or refresh from the ones I got at the end of the install... ie ones the installation system pushed to me. The main part of that problem is the sysems' refusal to see, or even accept the DVD is in the drive ! ( Msg complaining there is no disk in drive, w/ choices" skip abort or retry..." I retry... beep ( I think that means NO in computer) After15 minutes of that I tell it to skip. So, w/ only the option to skip the refresh, I finally choose skip. And then of course , it won't let me, for instance, install more software packages... Of a more ( I hope) minor difficulty is the sound it keeps randomply disappearing. Which is certainly a worry as it comes back always at full throttle! I like the way things are working out when they work tho.. I will even forgive the ghastly neon green background and splash screen. Because someone gave me a useful manual, as far as it goes. and once again TWO stickers! Now if I can just get the other little problems resolved... I'll only be looking for xmms.. uhm... guys? You do still have xmms in the distro, right? [opensuse] Performance Issue using SAMBA

Hello, I have a fresh installation of opensuse 11.1 and I'm sharing an entire ext3 volume in raid 5 using adaptec 5805 card with 4 drives samsung F1 spin point 750Go. I have setup samba as I usually do with the smb.conf and my transfert rate is very low: it starts at 70MB/s for 5 seconds, and drops to 15MB/s until the end of the transfer. I have compared to windows and ubuntu installed on the same machine, and the transfert rate remains @ 70MB/s. The write performances of the array is over my gigabyte LAN. I have googled a bit, but samba tuning options like socket "options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_KEEPALIVE SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192" changes nothing . Thanks for your help, cause I really want to keep my opensuse.
