It's nice to see Microsoft finally supporting ODF. Guess i just forgot where i put my little note where the list is with all (new/solved) features and requests for 11.0 afair, encrypted root & swap would be in it, just as strongswan instead of openswan. Bothe are not in 11.0-B3 probably i mis-read the list. [opensuse] outgoing domu network dies after about 2.5h

I have a OpenSuse 10.3 with xen 3.1.0 running and it's been running fine for a few months. This past weekend it suddenly started to act up and after some troubleshooting I can now say that it seems like the guests(domU) loose the outgoing network pipe, from the console I can see that the TX counter is stuck at the same value but it's no errors. It behaves as if whatever I try to connect to isn't there. I can reboot the guest but the problem stays, TX stays at 0 while RX counts up. Rebooting the host(dom0) solves the problem for a few hours (seems to be about 2.5h). I tried to look for what the problem can be but don't know where to look. The closest I got was when I narrowed it down to that it doesn't send any network traffic out from any domU and once it happens the domU mac is no where to be found outside the domU (checked brctl showmacs & on the switch) What bothers me most is that it worked fine up until Sunday. I was even out of town for a few days before so I didn't change anything. Also, why does it work for a while after reboot? My setup is not that strange. [opensuse] Install debian .deb package on opensuse10.3

Hi All, I'd like to install debootstrap onto an opensuse10.3 system. I've installed apt as per http://en.opensuse.org/APT But this only references opensuse stuff not debian, any suggestions on how to resolve this ? [opensuse] Password Requirements

I need to require users to use 2 caps, 2 lowercase, 2 special, and 2 numbers. I also need to keep a history of their last 10 passwords. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this with YAST. I've tried adding pam_cracklib to the common-password file but now it immediately says the password has been used before. What is the correct what to configure these requirements? Here is what I have in my common-password file: password required pam_pwcheck.so nullok debug password requisite pam_cracklib.so retry=3 minlen=9 dcredit=-2 ucredit=-2 ocredit=-2 lcredit=-2 difok=1 use_authtok debug password required pam_unix2.so nullok use_first_pass use_authtok debug -- Nobody get out of this life alive. [opensuse] Webcam driver compile problem

I've tried the suggested solution but no go. Using NoMachine NX, I'm trying to start a Cad system, Medusa4 (the full version) on openSUSE 10.3 (32 bit). The startup discontinues with the following errror message: /opt/medusa4_v3_0/med2d/m2d/run/draft: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libXft.so.2: undefined symbol: FT_Library_SetLcdFilter Medusa4 is offisial supported on Linux RHEL 3 and 4 WS, beside Windows and Solaris. Similar error has been reported on the Ubuntu forum. Possibly this error has to do with Medusa4's use of True type fonts. (I haven't this issue with the restricted Medusa4_Personal on openSUSE 10.3; possibly it uses statical linked libraries instead. The following related packages and libs are installed on openSUSE 10.3: freetype2-2.3.5-18 freetype-1.3.1-1266 xorg-x11-libs-7.2-103.4 contains /usr/lib/libXft.so.1 /usr/lib/libXft.so.1.2 /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 /usr/lib/libXft.so.2.1.2 A listing shows on openSUSE 10.3 shows ~> ls -la /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2008-05-13 23:48 /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 -> libXft.so.2.1.2 ~> ls -la /usr/lib/libXft.so.2.1.2 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 72408 2008-01-03 18:35 /usr/lib/libXft.so.2.1.2 Suggestions to solve this issue? Maybe "[...] other desktops because it is undergoing heavy development." would make it clearer why it's less mature - not because it's designed that way, but because at this point, the development cycle isn't complete.
