The devises alway are mounted by dysk-id no matter what I set in fstab-options. [opensuse] Possible NFS Integer overflow in openSUSE-10.3?

Hey guys, i think we can close my old thread and begin a new one. I think this is an integer overflow, because: If i do a "ls -l backup.iso" on my server share mounted via nfs: -rw-r--r-- 1 ffiene users 3711641600 10. Jul 2007 backup.iso If i do the same on the same share mounted with cifs: -rw-r--r-- 1 ffiene users 8006608896 10. Jul 2007 backup.iso The last file size is 2^32 + first file size! I've copied this file from my old server (SUSE-10.0) to the new one (10.3) via nfs and for gods sake, this was done correctly! So this didn't appear on 10.0's nfs! I've added a bug report here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=357528 Please help at this moment backups are not possible with nfs! Regards! [opensuse] Latest Kernel patch does not support NDISwrapper?

I'm trying to install the kernel patch that YOU says is available, been trying all day, and it keeps failing to to a dependency problem with NDISwrapper and the driver for my webcam. I was able to get my XEN kernel patched only because I wasn't able to get NDISwrapper to work with XEN and I also didn't use my webcam. Now under my normal boot I need to keep NDISwrapper so I can keep my wireless card working, the webcam I can live with out. Now I really can't seem to wonder if this problem is just me because there is not much about it in the list.

[opensuse] Where to put script to load modules?

I have to use Windows 2000 from time to time. I have found it very nice to use Qemu to run a Windows image in a virtual machine so I don't have to reboot into Windows. To make the best use of qemu I have to load the module kqemu and then change its permissions to a+rw. I want to run a small script at startup time to do just that, as I often forget with the result that the Windows session is terribly slow. Where would the best place be to place the script so it is invoked at startup. Thanks... [opensuse] Running slow, / full

My system has started running very slow, and the root directory is reported as having no free space. I've found a file /proc/kcore which is the probable culprit, being about 1000MB, with today's date, but even root is not allowed to move or delete this file. One is: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/102873 Basically it is as below when in this format: multi(X)disk(Y)rdisk(Z)partition(W)\<winnt_dir> The X, Y, Z, and W parameters have the following meaning: • X is the ordinal number of the adapter and should always be 0 (see the text below for the reason). • Y is always 0 (zero) if the ARC path starts with MULTI(), because MULTI() invokes the INT 13 call as described above and therefore does not need the DISK() parameter information. • Z is the ordinal for the disk on the adapter and is usually a number between 0 and 3. • W is the partition number. All partitions receive a number except for type 5 (MS-DOS Extended) and type 0 (unused) partitions, with primary partitions being numbered first and then logical drives. So, in your case, change the Z to a 1 ie multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\<winnt_dir> (in both lines) Back up the boot.ini first! (just in case...)
