[opensuse] Community Repositories module and YaST

I hae been searching for the "Community Repositories" module in the YaST, but have failed to find it. This facility was mintioned earlier today in a messsage which is no longer in my mailer, for which I apologize. [opensuse] Asterisk 1.4.10 and freePBX 2.3

Hi ! Anyone has been able to configure Asterisk 1.4.10 to work with freePBX on SuSE 10.2? I am struggling to do so dispite following instruction on freePBX install guide. [opensuse] Apache config question

Hi ! I am trying to install freePBX admin utility for Asterisk 1.4 (on SuSE 10.2). Installation instruction says this: httpd (Apache) configuration - Edit /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf (or /etc/apache2/apache2.conf) so that: User asterisk Group asterisk If I add this, how this will affect other HTML dirs? Does this mean that Apache will run as user "asterisk"? freePBX keeps its php scripts under user&group called "asterisk". Additionally, there is an additional instruction Chown the PHP session.save_path directory: - chown asterisk /var/lib/php/session I am really in doubt that freePBX is compatible with "normal" Apache installation. [opensuse] using opensuse 10.2, unable to read data on CD/DVD or IPOD

I'm using opensuse 10.2 now and it's very strange to me when I put my cds and dvds into the driver. The device is connected and I can see the icon of a dvd in konqueror but was unable to open any files or any folders in it. Every time when I clicked the icon of that dvd, it sent me a short line of message back :the file of folder of *** doesn't exit... More 'interesting', I can watch DVD movies on disks automatically by xine but can't read other data. The most wired things is data on my flash disk was working alright, but on the other hand, data in IPOD 'doesn't exit'.(Data that I mentioned doesn't mean songs stored in IPOD. I once used it as a movable hard disk.) So...anyone can help me? [opensuse] GConf error : please help!

I dont know what could possibly cause this error after I restart my notebook : GConf schema installer error, battery_low_percentage cannot be zero What should I do? GNOME-panel are all gone after blinking on startup. Last thing I did was install packet smart and smart-gui. [opensuse] eth0 become eth1 after upgraded

Dear all I've upgraded SuSE 10.2 workstation by changed the motherboard. Both the old motherboard and the new one have on-board ether card. After reboot, ether network stopped working. I go to Yast -> Network devices -> Network card and see two cards there. I remove the old on-board card and select the new on-board card to configure it using DHCP. Reboot the machine I got the new card working as eth1. /sbin/ifconfig -a shows I have only 3 interfaces, eth1, lo, sit0. Then my vmplayer stopped working and complain ether network bridge is not available. Reading vmplayer document I discovered vmplayer always try to build ether network bridge using the first ethernet device, presumably eth0. My eth0 no longer exist and that's why vmplayer doesn't work. The suggested solution is to let me start VMWorkstation and configure it to use eth1. But I don't have VMWorkstation, it's too expensive for me, if I buy a copy of VMWorkstation to fix this issue I can use the money to buy some new computers! Then next solution I think is to make SuSE use ifname "eth0" for the new on-bard card. I noticed dmesg said something strange: zhangweiwu@joe:~> dmesg | grep -i eth 8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.27 eth0: RealTek RTL8139 at 0xf0a16400, 00:13:8f:dd:cc:03, IRQ 201 eth0: Identified 8139 chip type 'RTL-8101' eth0 renamed to eth1 eth1: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x45E1 bridge-eth0: peer interface eth0 not found, will wait for it to come up bridge-eth0: attached Seems the on-board card /was/ eth0, it's getting renamed to eth1 for some reason. This behavior is not noticed on other distros. I think I can solve my problem by disabling this rename. I am using traditional ifup and I tried using Network Manager wouldn't help (rename still happen). How can I disable renaming eth0 to eth1? Unfortunately vmplayer is vital to my business; I cannot live a week without Windows that runs on it (live a day without Windows is okay). Too many business application rely on it. [opensuse] How do I upgrade 10.3 Beta1 to 10.3 Beta2

I am not having any luck upgrading Beta1 to Beta2. I download the openSUSE-10.3-Beta1_Beta2-DVD-x86_64.delta.iso (via Ktorrent which is as slow as Christmas) and try to burn it with K3B. K3B comes up that it is not an iso image. Burn it anyway. Sure enough, it will not boot. Try doing online update configuration. Will not work, there is a bug on this. Looked at the tar.gz file, no info on how to impliment the update fix that I could find. The details CGI leads to dead end. Doing sofware management in Yast, it comes up with db locked. Delete the /var/lip/zypp/db folder and try again. It updates and comes up with the same error. There is no full iso for the beta2 that I could find, so cannot even do a new install. After doing all of this, I insert a blank dvd in the dvd drive, hald no longer comes up with a dialog box asking what to do with it. So, any suggestion on howto update Beta1 to Beta2?
