[opensuse] About install nvidia 7600GS on SUSE 10.0

Dear All, I want to install nvidia 7600GS on suse 10.0 I download the drive from the nvidia.com and install as the readme step by step ,but it failed something with the kernal version. Must I update the kernal version to the newest or I cann't install it ? Or I can use online update to install the drive automatically? Does it work ? [opensuse] Screen Rotate

I have a dell computer with a built in Nvidia Ge Force 6150 LE. In yast Hardware - Graphics Card & Monitor - Monitor - Display 1 - Options , there is a button to rotate the screen but it is greyed out. I think I installed the Nvidia 3d driver at some time but not sure how / where to find what I did install. [opensuse] SUSE 10.3 Beta 2 Repositories

When installing 10.3 Beta 2 I ignored the offer to create the three repositories at install time. This was on purpose because it takes along time if one says yes, plus I am having keyboard/mice hang issues during install with this one machine. Can someone please list out the path to the three repositories so that I may point to them post install? I am running Suse 10.2 on Dell latitude D820. I run WinXP under parallels and it is accessing the corporate network via eth0. I cannot login to the corporate network via Linux, but have an outside wireless connection via the wireless card. It is connected to vnic0 via parallels. I tried adding ARGS_eth1="-abfI -u0 -d10" and a number variations thereof without success. Is there some way I could add the above commands to an existing script or how would I do it so this would occur on boot instead of having to do it manually everytime? [opensuse] ATA problem?

Hi all, I seem to be having odd problems. I see three problems with my system. #1 sometimes the bios do not find all three of my HDs (1xIDE 2x Sata). #2 sometimes the picture on the screen will stop with lines running left to right, when this happens the whole system locks up and I have to hard boot. #3 today for the first time while Linux was loading it stopped for about 60 seconds and then said "ATA-1 time out". It booted, but some programs were not there. I rebooted and it was OK. I hope this is a software problem, but I believe the hardware is about to break. Can anyone give me an idea about what to look at? BTW I'm running 10.1 on ASRock P4VM8 with 1gb mem, 1x80gb IDE, & 2x Sata 200gb HDs. [opensuse] home partition is full

My home partition is almost full althow the files I created are not so big. My guess is that applications have created their own files. [opensuse] Stuck Printer Queue

Hi, I sometimes get a printer queue that is stuck. This seems to occur when I have to turn off the printer and back on because it has run out of paper or ink. I tmight be the printer that locks up first but it also seems to lock up the print queue. The fix that I use is to either reboot the CUPS print server or using YAST remove the printer then reinstall it. Is there an easier way to restart/reset the print queue? [opensuse] Oracle support for PHP, perl and other apps

Hi, there's a thread on opensuse-buildservice about having support for oracle on php, perl, and other apps like tora, plus adding a quick solution for end users to build oracle-instantclient packages. Although Opensuse can't provide a binary package for oracle-instantclient because of legal issues (mostly involving countries banned by the USA government and redistribution of the client), we could still be able to build packages against it (like php, tora, perl-DBD-Oracle) and distribute them (pretty much like the Sun SDK is handled now on buildservice), plus adding a nosrc package so the end users can fix the dependencies quickly. Already sent a mail to oracle about the redistribution limitation, but as there's no answer (yet), this is the only workaround. Is there anyone interested?, if there's enough people needing this it could be a reality, would you like to comment?
