[opensuse] Another back-up question - Over & over again

Hello SuSE people, I have a new sata hard drive that is failing. I made a complete back-up using kdar of the drive. (To a separate spare drive) I have a dma number to return the drive. They will either replace it or repair it. When they get it they will destroy all data on the drive and when I receive it back it will be blank. No partitions, nothing. My question is: when I put the drive into service again will the backup restore everything? There were quite a few partitions on the drive. (primary & extended) I am thinking -NO. That I will have to reformat the drive and re-create the partitions as they were originally before I can restore the data. Am I correct in this assumption? I am pretty familiar with the YAST partitioner tool but wonder how I recreate the original partitions exactly? Or is it really necessary? I assume that there are no backup programs that actually re-create an entire blank drive. [opensuse] Synaptics touchpad, how to get rid of

Hi list, - I've got a laptop with SuSE10.2 and this stupid touchpad, a synaptics thing. I want to switch it off. [opensuse] Ooffice startup error

Dear All, I've recently installed OpenSUSE 10.2. Everything now works ... sort of ... except Open Office. Hi all, After turning off PHP global variables this line will no longer work. <form method="post" action="<?php echo $PHP_SELF?>"> When I use the form the source looks like this: <form method="post" action=""> So, the problem is $PHP_SELF. Can someone tell me what to use instead? Thanks! [opensuse] UNKNOWN FORMAT FOR JPEGS IN KONQUEROR

Hi guys, I am new to this community help thing, so please bare with me... I can't view jpegs in Konqueror. It does not recognize the format. I think I accidentally changed the setting for jpegs in Konqueror, but I am not sure exactly what it was. I can view jpegs in digicam, but not in konqueror. When I do a properties in konqueror, for "format" it is unknown. I think it is looking at the jpegs as a text document. [opensuse] how to enable figer print reader?

My HP nw8440 laptop has a fingerprint reader. My compatriots who also have this device (and are running vista) have easily been able to configure this such that when prompted to login, they simply swipe their finger.
