[opensuse] Dmix fails with opensuse 10.3

Hi, with the installation of MPlayer I have a new problem with opensuse 10.3. [opensuse] Community repositories URL in 10.3

Hi all, I "upgraded" from Factory to 10.3 and I wanted to try out the new Community Repositories in yast. But it gives me: No product URL defined to download list of repositories from. [opensuse] 10.3 x64 Cannot Get nvidia Driver to Work (at my wits end)

Hi All, Basically whatever I do x crashes when using nvidia drivers on my fresh install 10.3 x64 (7600GT card.) Just to prove that I was not doing anything wrong I performed a fresh install and the error still happens. I installed 10.3 - clean install. Logged in as root and using this http://opensuse-community.org/nvidia.ymp installer I updated the installation. I then went into yast->Hardware->Graphics Card and Monitor. The nvidia card was shown with the 3d tick box ticked. Performing a test was successful. I saved the config. BUT the next start of the xserver crashes... here is last few lines of the output: (II) NVIDIA(0): Initialized GART. (II) NVIDIA(0): kernel module enabled successfully (II) NVIDIA(0): Memory mapped (II) NVIDIA(0): Created acpid client socket 14. (II) NVIDIA(0): Interrupts enabled (II) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA X driver has encountered an error; attempting to (II) NVIDIA(0): recover... (II) NVIDIA(0): Initialized GART. Server aborting On my first install this happened. I tried a few things (factory pkg.run file) biut never any success. So I reinstalled and did the above for my own sanity. And the server always crashes with the nvidia driver. With the nv driver it works ('sax2 -r -m 0=nv'). Previously I did an install of 10.3 RC1 x64 on exactly the same hardware and it worked no problem. I am really at my wits end on this. I have noticed other people have their nvidia x64 driver working. Anyone have any ideas? [opensuse] 10.3 x64 with AMD+6000/nvidia 7600gt x server does not work but 10.3 x32 does work (I am not crazy)

Hi all, Well I have spent a long time on this but at least I know I am not crazy. I previously reported problems with 10.3 x64 nvidia driver installation (7600gt). Basically whatever I did, it did not work - x server crashes after installation. Just to prove I was not crazy (and it was not a hardware fault) I have just repeated the installation for 10.3 32 bit. I did exactly the same installation steps (and I mean exactly.) And guess what? IT WORKS!!!! I have a working x server (glxgears is giving me thousands of FPS) So for my hardware setup the 64 bit nvidia driver installation DOES NOT WORK... but of course I want both 3d and 64 bit... I have selected the http/ftp download under section 3 and currently I am getting a page error but earlier when it worked, I was only given a 153 MB (that number might be in error but close) .iso file for downloading, not a 4.1 GB DVD iso. I just tried again, same error. It could be just that the server is on overload but there should be more than one mirror holding the DVD iso for dl. Hi ya'll! I've just updated from 10.2 to 10.3 on my laptop. The installed driver for the Intel 945 GM does not support 3d anymore. I couldn't find anything on the web. How do I enable 3d support / which driver would be appropriate? Hi ya'll! I've just updated from 10.2 to 10.3. I also installed Sun's Java 1.6. Well, java / javac ... are not recognized as commands anymore. There are lots of broken links involved. Is there a change to straighten it up automatically? [opensuse] Resizing partitions safely

Is there a way to "safely" resize extended partitions? I have a 2TB extended partition that has some reiserfs partitions inside and I'd like to shrink it without data loss. Sure, full backup etc... But it's not an easy option in this case.
