[opensuse] Weird message in boot.msg

Please, respont to: maura.monville(a)gmail.com I would like to install SuSE 10.2 on a desktop provided with a XEON processor and a SCSI Raid drive. Apparently SuSE is unhappy with the Raid drive and get stuck at the BIOS stage. It cannot make it to launch the interactive installation procedure. We have tried to install two other Linux distribution but experienced the same problem. The computer's owner, who was running Red Hat, told me this is a Linux problem, irregardless of the distribution. He advised to avoid installing in the Master Boot Sector. To my best recollection, I had this Master Boot Sector problem some year ago, maybe with Red Hat or SuSE 7.3 on a DELL desktop. I never had that problem again after replacing the computer. Someone helped me find the workaround. There is a way to tell the BIOS where to install the O.S. ... but I cannot remember. But is it really a Master Boot Sector problem ? I cannot understand the relation with the SCSI Raid drive ... I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance. [opensuse] 10.3 DVD is not booting

Hi I download the openSUSE-10.3-GM-DVD-i386.iso and burn it with k3b under opensuse 10.2, the k3b did the MD5 sum succesfully but the DVD is not booting. I try it in two machines whle both machines can boot with 10.2 dvd. I also try to burn a new DVD with 10.3 in case that somethink goes wrong with the first one (actualy now i have four copies of it but no one is working). I also try to burn a new copy of 10.2 DVD to check if somethink is wrong with k3b but this one is working. So the problem is with openSUSE-10.3-GM-DVD-i386.iso. Right now i am in the midle of new download of the file, but it will take a couple of days to finish. [opensuse] Unable to get matrox G550 in dualscreen

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331550#c3 I am unable to get my G550 in dualscreen. The xorg.conf from 10.3 works in 10.2, yet I get a 'no signal' in 10.3. The machine is dualboot 10.2 and 10.3 and the 10.2 one works perfectly. Not sure where else to look. What can I do to get this working? Unfortunatly I had no time whatsoever to do any betatesting, so I have no idea in what Alpha/Beta the problem started. [opensuse] 10.3, Geforce FX5500 +nvidia driver

hi Has anyone managed to get X running when installing the closed Nvidia driver? I installed all (driver and kerner sources) via the community repo's etc and every time i load up after installed in the driver i end up at the command prompt. I have installed 10.3 on my laptop and have copied my .evolution folder to the laptop but when I go to start evolution it has no knowledge of my connections. [opensuse] Repair System not working on 10.3GM DVD

Hello, Trying to run repair installation on 10.3GM results in a red box saying "Installation Failed". This happens both from the main dvd menu and also from installation->other options. There is an error message that flashes up just before the red box that says, "Starting yast2/ No such module repair" The DVD passed media check, can anyone tell me what's going on with this?
