Error when using smart

I've been using smart-0.41-28.guru.suse101.i686.rpm on my 10.1 box for some time but today it's started failing the smart update routine with the following traceback. Anybody any idea what might be going wrong? [opensuse] openssl verify fails for new key

Hello out there, I already googled for a solution to the following problem, but did not get an idea how to solve it (well, to be honest it's my first time getting in the topic of ssl..) Ok, it's not the router. I tried my old netgear router and it behaved the same way. I've been trying to change the hostname/domain in YAST, since this is a new network. I don't know why, but this changes the wired network host/domain as well. Does the host and domain have to be "correct" for the wireless to route? I'm about to give up and install redhat 5 or ubuntu. XEN & VT-x

Hi all, Does anybody have experience with XEN in combination with Intel VT-x? On the xen-pages, they write that the enterprice version fully supports VT-x, thus enabling unmodified DOM-u clients (like M$, BSD) For the open-version, they write that not all distro's have the VT-x extra parts compiled in. What is the status of XEN in Prof-10.1 / OpenSuSE? Does it have VT-x extensions? Konqueror's MidnightCommander view profile locks up

openSUSE 10.1, KDE 3.5.4 r78.1. Konqueror locks up when I try to use the View Profile MidnightCommander. All others work fine. I have deleted the ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/profiles/midnightcommander file and re-created it. Permissions are the same on it as any other modified View Profile saved there. Tried another user login and it works the first time you save that View Profile. It then locks up right away the next time you either start with that profile or switch to it from any other profile. Any one can confirm/deny? Any ideas for further troubleshooting before I bugzilla it? Happened before today's update to the KDE 3.5.4 r78.1 release too. Even rebooted to make sure all was loading fresh too. Thanks, Stan

Can´t log in as root HELP?

Hi list! I was told that I´t wasn´t good to alow root logins (I´m new to Suse). I then used YAST to click ~"don´t alow root logins" thinking I would be able to "su" when I needed to be root. I then found out that "su" doesn´t work so I tried "sudo" instead, but that doesn´t work either. Is there any way for me to enter my current system as root now/again? or Do I have to format the hd and install a new system? (I have Suse 10.0) /Peo

I just installed opensuse 10.1 on my Dell D820 with centrino wireless. It works great on my work wireless/wired network. A hotel wireless network worked using NetworkManager, very nice. But my home network, my Belkin wireless AP/router, only works half-way. I just can't figure it out. I get the DHCP, /etc/resolv.conf is fixed up, but _no DNS_. It just will not reslove any names and I have to use Windows at home all the time (crap!).
