However, can you ping yourself? Are you using KInternet or the newer Network Manager? Also, you might want to check if your WLAN card is built in correctly. IIRC, Novell stopped including non OSS WLAN drivers in their kernel modules. Again, since I haven't tried 10.1 on my laptop yet, I'm not sure of the effect on those of us using laptops. Finally, you mentioned that the WLAN worked in earlier distros. Which ones? SUSE? Whoppix? Ubuntu? Fedora? PHLAK? -- k

K Control Center. That's where I saw it before. (I'm running Gnome.) K Control Center used to be available from the Gnome menu but it seems to have disappeared in recent distros. Anyway, I got the font file installed. Thanks muchly for the help. Filesystem problem

I have a machine running SUSE10 On one harddisk is XPsp2 with filesystem FAT On the other disk is SUSE10 My files are on the FAT disk, so I can use them in both systems Starting today I can't call the files on the FAT disk using SUSE /var/log/boot.msg gives the following lines: <5>Linux version 2.6.13-15-default (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.0.2 20050901 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)) #1 Tue Sep 13 14:56:15 UTC 2005 <3>FAT: Unrecognized mount option "uiers" or missing value Mounting local file systems... proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) /dev/hdf1 on /boot type ext2 (rw,acl,user_xattr) mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hde1, missing codepage or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so XPsp2 had no problems to approach the files Can anybody give me the hint how to solve? Hello, has anybody got this problem and solved it. My dvb-t card (Hauppage 909) is configured by YaST, the required modules seem to be loaded but there's no devices created? IT was OK in 10.1-RC3.

Adding sources to YaST

Ive been trying to follow the guide http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254/42/ for adding more of the missing stuff in suse 10.1, dvd playback xgl etc, and ive googled for the answer and also browsed the forum and looked through the archives of the mailing list, but just cant seem to find the right answer to my problems, so i apologise ahead of time if this has been asked and answered before. I can get the pacman sources to add correctly, but when i try to add the: download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/ download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/non-oss-inst-source/ sources it fails with "unable to created installation source" ive read that this might be a bug, but i kinda think that its hard to believe since it was working with 10.0. how can i get those sources added? i cant seem to find an alternate mirror to try added those as well. any help would be appreciated. thanks Nick

Setting up a server.

Hi. Per the instrcution given on howtoforge, I am trying to set up a SuSE 10.1 server. All but the Apache setup went ok. I cannot find what's wrong. All the modules are doublecheked for being installed, as the message gives a not installed module one of the reasons for the problem. Here's what I'm getting: /etc/init.d/apache2 start Starting httpd2 (prefork) Syntax error on line 165 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Invalid command 'default.aspx', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration The command line was: /usr/sbin/httpd2-prefork -f /etc/apache2/httpd.conf -DSSL The default.aspx neither is misspelled. Anyone that have seen this, or have idea(s) for what the problem could be ?. Yes I tried asking on the howtoforge, but no reply so far. -- Med venlig hilsen / Best regards Erik Jakobsen DENMARK

I also checked in KDE's control center, I can change the default to shutdown or reboot (as well as logout) but it doesn't give any other options, at shutdown/logout time. (machine is sometimes used as a hardware tester, frequent reboots, in those circumstances).
