I need to transfer my stored email (kmail) on my Suse 8.0 machine to my new 9.3 box. What I have to traqnfer with is a DVD-RAM drive/media. How to remove panel message on Gnome Startup SuSe 9.3?

hello from Adam I have been running SuSE 9.3 from 9.2 and usually run Gnome with Metacity. When the panels come up, I keep getting "I've have detected a panel already running, and will not exit" box with a don't enter icon. What do I do to not have this message come up every bootup to Gnome? Thanks in advance. Adam

9.3 panel boloon boxes too big

While we are on this 'too big issue', home do I make the huge "balloon help' boxes on the panel small or non-existant? These are th ones that pop up when the mouse goes oven an icon. -- John R. Hey Group; Whom ever suggested the Gnome program "glabels". Thanks! I downloaded it compiled it and it works great. One question is on a CD label with two labels per sheet, how do you get it to do "Disc 1 of 2" and on the other label "Disc 2 of 2". Kmenu Icons Too Big

Hi! I use SuSE 9.3 (kde 3.4.0), and on my main user, the icons on the kmenu are unreasonably large. On root or other users, the icons are normal size, but on my account, they are too large. How do I change this? Kcontrol didn't have a module that fixed this (the appearence&themes->icons/advanced didn't help). Thanks! -Steven

Loading modules at boot

Where does one specify additional modules to load at boot. Specifically I want my SCSI driver loaded at boot. Suse support talks about modifying a line in rc.config but I can't find that file and suspect that things have moved on since that was written. Scott

Suse 9.3 or kde problem with closing lid on IBM Thinkpads

I just installed 9.3 and it's great, but I have a Thinkpad X40 which has a problem with the screen. If I close the lid and then open it again, I get about 5% of garbage on the top of the screen. It then offsets the mouse location so I have to click about 5% higher than the actual button. Anyone know how to fix this? I've been running sax2 and just testing the config to reset the screen, but I'd like to not have to do this. Also, I set the action for closing the lid in the thinkpad config to not do anything (turned off suspend). Thanks to anyone who can help... Khanh Tran Network Operations Sarah Lawrence College

SuSE9.3 ftp install?

Maybe a really dumb question... is it actually released now? I noticed a huge number of files appear on the ftp site in the last couple days... I've also found this... ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/iso/ which has a DVD eval iso, and a 5 disk CD set. Is the CD set the full iso's of the 9.3 release? There's no handy dandy readme laying about to make it clear what's up with those files. C.
