Try to use kdevelop3 in alpha4 by creating a project from a template. You will get the following error: The template /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdevappwizard/qmakesimple.tar.gz cannot be opened Sean

SuSE 10 SUPER

Today I installed SuSE 10 SUPER on a spare hard disk, and I just wante to say that I love it... it is much quicker, and KDE 3.5 is so slick. I did not find an english user group or forum for this version, so I thought I would post my question here. Had a question about the application manager called klik. Its a web based software manager, basically any user can browse applications listed, and click on it, it installs, and runs automatically. Although I like it, the apps dont show on the start menu, and the icons on the desktop are the same grey ones. Since klik installed and ran applicaiton as a non - root user, I wonder if the app is installed on my local home drive, but I cannot find the binaries in my home dir?

set native language user interface in firefox

Hello all: I have suse 10.0 i386 with the default mozilla firefox packages: MozillaFirefox-translations-1.0.7-0.1 MozillaFirefox-1.0.7-0.1 I would like to set firefox's user interface to Hungarian. I thought that was trivial but could not find any info how to do it even after 30 min googling. The start menu items and kde menus are Hungarian already. What is the right procedure? 10.1a4: YOU not able to access remote online update servers

Hello community ! While installing 10.1a4 I found YOU not working. I also did various test after the installation was finished (without success so far ...). YOU is neither able to get the suseserver list and is not able to access sample remote online update servers like "ftp.suse.com". Network settings seem to be o.k. (I could "ping" and "ftp" "ftp.suse.com" or "ftp.gwdg.de"). The same hardware worked without any problem under various 10.0 snapshots (betas, RC1 and finally GM). As soon as I disable the the YAST2_LOADFTPSERVER-option and run YOU again with sample server setting like "ftp.suse.com" for servername and "pub/suse" (no leading slash !) for the folder on the server this two strings seem to be concatenated in a weird manner. With the next call to modify these settings the string for the folder is displayed as "%2fpub/suse" and as soon as this settings are stored the resulting path is displayed as "ftp://ftp.suse.com/%2f%252fpub/suse". The next attempt to open this obviously wrong setting shows "%2f%2f&2fpub/suse" and after exiting this dialog the resulting string is "ftp://ftp.suse.com/%2f%252f%252f%252fpub/suse". There seems to be a bug in the stringhandling for the path to access the remote online update server ! I filed this behaviour as bug #140744. Anyone out there who could give advice ? -- Never give up ! Best regards, Reinhard.

Slowly upgrading my system....

I'm about to start upgrading my system from a P111 800Mhz to probably an AMD Sempron 2800 64bit processor. I'll obviously be starting with the motherboard, CPU and memory. My plan was to swap the hard drives / DVD / CD devices straight over, then sometime later upgrade the hard drives (bigger capacity) and graphics card. What effect will I see if I take the drives as they are and connect them straight to the new motherboard / processor? Moving hard disk from hdc to hda

My SuSE 10 is installed on hda (IDE1). I would like to move it to IDE0 (hda). If I move it SuSE fails to boot up, I guess lilo or grub cannot find the root drive expected to be at hdc2. How will I fix this? Thank you. Shibu

NFS file locking problem between SuSE 10 Client and 9.3 server

Hello, i´ve some NFS filelocking problem between my SuSE 10.0 based clients and the 9.3 based server. /home is located on the server (with SuSE 9.3 and a recent kernel (2.6.15)). The clients are equiped with SuSE 10.0 and the default 2.6.13 kernel. Applications which are using NFS filelocking on /home (examples: eclipse, skype, banshee) are not working. Sorry, relaying denied from your location

On one of my machines (not on the network I'm sending this from) I get the message "Sorry, relaying denied from your location" whenever I attempt to send email to an address not in the same domain as the sender. Other machines on the same network (running Windows) have no such problem, so I would guess the cause lies in my own machine. Where should I look to correct the problem? Paul
