firefox opens blank page when opening .pdf

On one machine (suse 10.0), if I open a url with a .pdf, it opens fine in kpdf. On the other, also suse 10.0, it opens a blank page. On the machine that works, Looking under firefox preferences, downloads, files types, it has PDF listed with open with default application. PDF is also listed under the plug-ins. On the machine that does not work, Looking under firefox preferences, downloads, files types, it has nothing listed, however PDF is listed under the plug-ins. Any clues on how to fix this? I have looked under the gnome cc but found nothing there as well as the KDE CC has pdf listed and the applications also listed the same on both machines. Found nothing like this on gnome cc. Art

For anybody having problems downloading the SuSE 10 (open source version) DVD it is on the new edition of Linux User and Developer magazine. It's on the newsagents shelves in the UK at the moment. kernel patches for OpenSuSE 10?

I was just wondering what the policy is on releasing patched kernels for SuSE? Will all the effort be put into SuSE 10.1, or can we expect to see 2.6.14 for SuSE 10? Tried powering off and back on but no help. Still comes up with "GRUB Loading stage1.5.". Just to see if the hard drive is accessable I tried to load it with FreeDOS, which is usually easy and quick to do. Although I can access the hard drive I still can't boot to it. Here's what happened... - Booted to FreeDOS floppy - FDisk worked fine removing the linux partitions and creating the DOS partitions. - formatted using FORMAT - copied files to the harddrive - tried to boot but failed with same message "GRUB Loading stage1.5." - if I boot to the floopy i can access the harddrive fine (C:), all the files I copied are there, just can't boot. Any ideas? Matt

x.org configuration

Hi, I installed the new SuSE10Eval in my computer, setting vnc to work. All works ok, apart of USB2.0 pen drive that is slower than a floppy. After some updates (I think the nvidia official) no mouse nor keyboard works anymore in X mode. Going in to text mode I was disabled vnc, then mouse and keyboard works again. Somebody knows about it? And about USB pendrive? Thank you Thadeu
