I know this is stupid, but does anyone know how to get audio working in flash7 under 9.2 professional. I really would like to hear the audio from the jibjab movies

From all the stuf that I read on the kernel mailing list and other places, it seems that the best option is to avoid the Seagate drives. So I am in the process of getting Western Digital drives. SuSE 9.0 - useradd acting strange

I have a server running SuSE 9.0 where I have to add users from time to time. The /usr/sbin/useradd executable is acting very strange on this server -- it runs for a very long time (2-3 minutes), the cpu usage of the process is always close to 100%, and memory consumption keeps rising (to about 2GB!) until it finishes. No errors or warnings are issued, and to stop it before it exits by itself, I have to use 'kill -9 <pid>', in which case /etc/passwd is not modified. If I let it run until finished, everything seems to be in order, ie. the user has been added. Any ideas what could cause this kind of behaviour? Could the passwd or shadow files be corrupted somehow? Any tools I could use to find out? -- Lars Haugseth

Email setup in network

Hi, I've got a little WLAN network at home: desktop Suse 9.2 running samba and two ancient laptops both on win2k. I mostly work on the desktop, but have been known to use the laptop in the bath etc and certainly when on the road :-) My wife uses her laptop only. My question is: Can I use KMail on the desktop and save it so that another win email programm can read the mails for when I take the laptop on the road? Similarly, can I just overwrite the new emails folders onto the desktop when I return home? Or any other suggestions that would achieve a working setup? Ta Ingo

Hi, Anyone have installed SuSE 9.2 on server with Intel SE 7221 m/b? YaST seem to be do not recognize onboard hardware Serial ATA RAID Level 1. laptop graphics problem with 9.2

In the two years I have had my Compaq 1500 laptop, I have at various times had Fedora Core 2 and SuSE (various, the last being 9.0) on it. I've never had problems with it until I tried to update to 9.2. Running sax2 brings up a white screen. I tried plugging in another lcd external monitor, and resolution on that one was 640X480, 16 colors. I had been routinely running 1280x1024, with 16 bit resolution. It has to be the driver, and in 9.0 I got good results using a generic LCD monitor. That no longer works.

has anyone tried to use netop on suse? what was your experience and perspective of the product? is it any better or equal to x-server and tightvnc? Matice

This is not the case with 9i, which is the latest version documentation I have on hand. I've upgraded my desktop system, to SuSE 9.2, but now I'm having problems getting the IMAP server to run. I've installed the Washington IMAP server, and it is enabled, along with imaps in xinetd. However, I can't seem to connect to it. I don't recall having this issue, when I had previously set up IMAP in Red Hat 7.3 and SuSE 9.0. Can't run IMAP in SuSE 9.2
