Hi! I have a problem; in KDM login page it says: Warning: Caps locked. I can't log into X. I've never seen this before and I don't know what it means. What does this mean? pcmcia card reader on desktop

My desktop running SuSE 8.2 and KDE has two pcmcia slots from a card reader which is connected to my mother board via a pci card. When I use cardinfo the inserted cards are recognized but I do not seem able to connect with the cards. Floppies and cdrom I can mount but I have no idea how to communicate with my pcmcia memory card. Is there some GUI program which would take care of seeing my pcmcia card or is the some console program to use? On my Drdos I have no problems to read and write my pcmcia cards via the same reader so I know everything should work. -- NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.

diaup problem

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my dialup connection We have an incoming dial-in connection , yesterday I force to kill pppd auth from server processes , after that my server didnt response to any connection ( Even ping localhost ), At this time I must restart my server. Wireless lan - can not connect to the Internet

Hi: Using SuSE 8.2 Pro. I just installed a CableFree access point and a PCMCIA card to my notebook. The access point is connected to my network's switch, and setting this hardware took less than 10 minutes. I can ping my server, and I can connect to the exported NFS the server has. I can transfer files back and forth. All the boxes that are using a cable can connect to the Internet. Even my notebook, using a cable, can connect to the Internet. If I open a terminal window, and issue "dig clshonduras.com" I will get the information on that site. But if I try to browse the web with Konqueror or Mozilla, I get a "cannot connect to http://www.clshonduras.com" or any other site. If I try to ping a site on the internet, I get a "Network Unreachable" message. Could somebody tell me what else I need to do? Thank you. -- Alfredo J. Hi, Any info, docs about how to setup a SuSE cluster based on 8.2 or 8.1 ? Is there any mailing list within SuSE regarding this subject ? Under Yast2 there is no Cluster Selection to easy see what software comes for cluster solution. Maybe a good tip for SuSE to add a cluster solution under Yast2 ! My friend, order the Packages By serie, and the section: Beowulf Extreme, all is for cluster!!!!! A lot of programs!!!!

CUPS to XP Printing problem

I can't seem to get CUPS to work with an HP k60xi on an XP machine. I have run through the yast dialogues, specifying smb printer with the ip and user guest or actual user on xp. The test of smb connection succeeds I specify the appropriate driver and then test but nothing happens. (I am able to print for win2k to this same printer). I did do a google search but all I found was someone who said it worked when the switched top LPD. Any help will be most appreciated Gary Ernst
