Printer problems

I searched the site and didnt find information relavant to HPIII SI which is one of the emmulation modes of my printer. Has anyone here got that information? The printer is an Epson and still workes fine in winblows so I am not going to replace it. problem reexporting samba share though nfs

I'm having a hard time finding anything on the net about this so I'll ask you people. I'm wanting to mount a samba filesystem on one computer and then have the computer reexport it. ie... (smb) (nfs) computer A (win) ---- computer B (linux) ----- computer C \---- computer D I have no problem mounting the windows share but I cannot get the nfs server to reexport it. I know I've done it before (at least i'm pretty sure) but I can't remember how I did it. I am using the userspace nfs since I remember that was the one that could (kernel version couldn't). any ideas? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! How many CPU's can SUSE support? I have an old proliant server with 4 P-200's in it, I would like run SUSE on it... Thanks in advance. Andy

APMD: the [apparent] bottom line

It would seem that apmd is not going to work on this Toshiba Satellite, no matter what I do. The best-case scenario is having to issue the command, 'rcalsasound restart' whenever the box is suspended --if apmd is not activated in runlevel or kernel; the worst-case scenario is having to reboot each & every time the box is suspended to get the sound, network (or both) to work afterward --when apmd is loaded either in runlevel (it doesn't work when loaded by kernel). So... the *only* thing I would like to know at this point is: Is there a way to get some script to auto-magically execute 'rcalsasound restart' when the box comes out of suspension/standby so that I don't have to futz w/issuing the command from the keyboard every time I reopen the lid!? ...CH -- SuSE has become a pitb

automounting filesystems with noacl

How can I use automounted filesystems, and mount them with -noacl. I know how to use the automounter (which works like a charm), but is there a way I can explicitly ask the automounter to not mount with ACL enabled ? Evolution 1.4 on SuSE 8.1

Hi All i want to update my ximian evolution 1.2.4 to 1.4, but on the homepage ( and red-carpet) of ximan there are no packages for SuSE 8.1. The installscript for SuSE 8.2 works only if i change the /etc/SuSE-release. But when i want to install by using the script for SuSE 8.2, the script want to update or uninstall many packages like CUPS, ALSA and so on. Evolultion will not remove mail from server

Using SuSE 8.2 with evolution 1.2, evolution will not remove mail from the server. I have the leave mail on server box UNchecked in the receive options. This is also with evolution 1.4. In 8.0 it works. Anyone have a clue as to why evolution will not remove mail from the server in 8.2? Art

Hum, this is strange- it works fine here. Does the symlink /usr/bin/arecord exist? Arecord is actually nothing more than a symlink to aplay.
