What's the easiest way to update KDE to 3.2 beta 2 ???

Should I include the URL to one of the repositories (in Change Installation Source) or is it a simplier way? In what order should I pick different packages? When you upgrade this kind of "essential" part of the OS, is there something I should be aware of (besides crossing my fingers :) ??

How to set speed of eth0?

I am running SuSE8.1 pro, and I want to reduce the speed of my ethernet card to 10M half duplex. (Currently 100MB full duplex) How do I do this? I have tried YAST2, it allows me to set the IP address etc, but there is nothing about the speed? It could do it in WindowsXP, but how do I do it under SuE Linux? I was asked by my ADSL modem/router supplier to do this and a few other things in order to prevent problems with my router, which hangs sometimes. -- Frits Wüthrich <frits(a)wuthrich.cc>

I did not perform a "backup" of the old kernel. I just installed all required packages (in the readme-file at Kraxel) and everything went fine :) How could I see if YAST have renamed the 2.6 installation so that it points/says that I'm still running 2.4 ... when I should be up-and-running with the 2.6-kernel ??? 9.0 and menus

I don't know what it is about SuSE and menus but it seems like that is the only consistent problem I have with this distro. I recently installed Lazarus and the appropriate fpc compiler; no problem. I manually add "Lazarus" to one of the "Development" sub-menus and the next thing I know, the "Development" menu disappears and all the tools and programs that were under it end up scattered all over the "Applications" menu. The menu editor still shows the "Development" sub-menu but nothings under it. I tried using "kbuildsycoca --noincremental" but that was worthless. Any ideas what is causing this (I've had it happen before w/ another sub-menu but manually fixed it) and how to repair it without cutting/pasting all the stuff back? Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. Zach

I have installed the 2.6 kernel. Now there's only the rest left :) How do I configure the boot file so it will start on 2.6, and not 2.4?

Reason behind Audio help...

Hi all... Thanks for all you all's help with the audio cds. I think that I'll just stay with mp3 files, it seems easyer. For anyone that can pick up "BAYERN 2" Radio -- starting December 27 at 9 AM (09:00 German time GM +1) They are playing the "Lord of the Rings" in German (Der Herr der Ringe). This is 12 hours long and will be in 10 parts. I hope to copy it all to CD. Also starting the same day/same radio they will be playing "1001 nights" read by Libgart Schwarz, also in German. This will start at 23:05 (11:05 PM GM+1) and go till mid-night. This also have 10 shows. NIC 100 Full duplex howto

A dumb one but I can't seem to "set installation source" ... where do you do that ... I can see the people/kraxel in the Yast selection. How can I then see the content of the /kraxel ?. Is the readme placed in /kraxel ?. Oh yes I can see something from the /kraxel in Yast, but only what's installed here locally.
