Anyone think that installing LaTeX from the 7.3 CD's onto an 8.0 box will fubar it? Firewire Hardrive

I have done insmod ieee1394, insmod pcilynx, and insmod raw1394. Does anyone have a clue what is next in order to see the ADS 2.5 inch Pyro drive kit? What device should it be? Have found very little documentation on this subject. Art

Suse 8.0 and dhcp

Hello: I have a problem. Id installed Suse 8.0 and can not connect with my ISP. I have configured defaults options in network basics, but when linux try up the network show this message: eth0 ...... no IP address yet.....backgrounding if I write ifstatus eth0 command says that dhcpcd daemon is not loaded. I have tried of all but nothing, but Mandrake 8.2 and windows works fine with your defaults option. Can anybody help me, please? P.D. I've a cable connection

In Mozilla I get an error that the maximum number of redirections has been reached, while konqueror tells me that it "Found a cyclic link in http://lists.suse.com. SuSE 7.3 and rsh access

Hi, I've installed SuSE 7.3 on a new system with NIS configured to get its info from a (Sun) NIS server. Everything works fine, except using rsh (or rlogin) into the SuSE 7.3 system. It insists on asking for a password. This problem seems to exist only when I use a netgroup in /etc/hosts.equiv (as in +@mygroup). When I put in an explicit user host and user, rsh works fine. On our SuSE 6.3 systems there is no such problem, but I think I've seen the same with 7.1. Anybody knows what's going on? Mutt errors.

I am getting errors when I execute the following command: mutt -f pop://<my_account><my_mail_server> Here are the errors: Error in /home/brian/.muttrc, line 70: imap_host: unknown variable Error in /home/brian/.muttrc, line 71: imap_delete: unknown variable Error in /home/brian/.muttrc, line 109: too few arguments Error in /home/brian/.muttrc, line 127: web_browser: unknown variable source: errors in /home/brian/.muttrc I assume that the errors are probably independent of the command, as they are related to .muttrc, so here are the lines in my .muttrc file: set imap_host="mail.linuxfreemail.com" set imap_delete="yes" send-hook "~t "mutt-users(a)mutt.org" 'set indent_string="# "' set web_browser="lynx %s Can anyone help me straighten these out <newbie alert>?
