NVdriver?

Ok, I used apt-get/synaptic to update the kernel for the k_athlon version I had. After I have had problems with the NVdriver loading. In otherwords, when a do an "lsmod" there's no "NVdriver" or "agpgart" loaded as before. I have check and made sure that libGL.so.1 is symlinked to the proper driver in /usr/lib/GL which is libGL.so.1.0.3123.nv_glx. and in the module.conf file I have "alias char-major-195 NVdriver", though the placement of this line is now different, whereas before it was under the section "Moxa Multiport Serial Boards" it is now the last line in modules after the YaST2/(alsa) sound system dependent part. (I'm also curious as to why the previous module "agpgart" is not loading either). After upgrading the kernel I got with synaptic I ran "mk_initrd". I also have reinstall the NVIDIA_kernel and GLX packages and in the manner spec'ed by nVidia (do an -Uhv for the kernel packages and then rpm -e followed by -ihv for the GLX package). How do I get it to be loaded from the modules.conf file as before? I have modules.conf, modules.conf.- , and a modules.conf.old files in the /etc directory. I'm wondering if I should try to cp the present mod conf to something like modules.conf.bkup and then cp'ing one of the other mod confs to be read (like cp modules.conf.- or the modules.conf.old). Has anyone used EncFormMail.pl on their web server before? I'm trying to find it since I've seen several references to it, but can't locate it. mail crash

If anyone has send me mail directly today it was lost due to ISP problems. It seems when they do a Dial Data Upgrade they dont warn you. This causes a system crash taking out any and all saved mail in the inbox. On that I agree having seen the hassles of 7,0 8.0 is an improvement with auto detection of even my older hardware. The IDESCSI thing is only one problem. The other is the Clean install seems to need four primary partitions which I cant give with another OS on the same drive. Two very small problems easily fixed by an interum release. fstab & lilo

Hi all, Would someone using a dual boot setup with Win/fat32 mind sending me a printout of their fstab and lilo.conf entry? I want to add a seperate disk with Win install that wasn't there before. This is the setup, hda is the Linux drive and hdb the Win drive. I know one must make an entry in the fstab for the hdb and if you want to be able to choose to boot from the LILO, an entry there as well. wrong language in hylafax

Hello, my system is setup to use German $RC_LANG = de_DE@euro but in the TagLine from hylafax the weekday is printed in english. Does someone know were I can change the language which hylafax uses? I use the %a from strftime() in the tagline. Michael

apmd on Toshiba satellite

I have a new Toshiba notebook with SuSE working very well for the most part. But I can't seem to get the power meter in kde to work right, or more generally the apmd system. apm reports "AC on-line, no system battery" regardless of whether the computer is plugged in or not. There is never any indication of state of charge, or even the existence of a battery. I've tried the various combinations of apm and acpi in the kernel startup with no success. Does anyone know where I can find any documentation on this feature? Typing this in the help center only results in a setting for sysconfig. I cannot find any docs that explain what these particular settings are. Can anyone point me in that direction? Much Appreciated! Doug
