I do have the professional edition. Well, professional upgrade, but that is ostensibly the same thing. It's not on here either. i grabbed the INDEX.gz file from the ftp server and did a zdiff. It seems there are quite a few packages missing from my CD/DVD set as compared to the ftp site. Pine is SLOW [sendmail -q DNS lookup??]

Hello All With help from the knowldgable Juergen Braukmann Ive been able to get my mail to queue and send properly via sendmail -q However; when I compose a mail in pine (while offline - not connected to the net) then hit send... pine seems to try and send it immediatly rather than going directly to the mail queue. In other words I send a mail and it takes about 60 seconds + for pine to actually put it in the queue, during that time I cant do anything else in pine. Below is the output of my sendmail.rc.config. Im telling it -no dns-, and I dont see any setting in pine other than "background mode" which does nothing benificial in this case (still take 60 econds to send the mail to queue) What am I missing?? Im suspecting a dns issue but not sure what to adjust. I'm attempting to install the newest version of sax2 (for X4.0.3), but rpm quits on the message intlfonts-ttf is needed by sax2-4.3-25 How can I locate that package on the SuSE website (or on my 7.1 distribution CDs)? Paul Abrahams

Buying a burner

My 3+ year old HP 7200i has turned back into a pumpkin. I'm looking at buying the HP 9500i. It's not listed in the 3 different hardware-howtos I've checked. Does anyone have the 9500i working in a SuSe 7.1 box? I'll be shocked if it won't work, but I'd like to hear a "yes" before I spend the money. -- Robert S. 7.1 on IBM Intelistation M-Pro.

7.1 is up and running on "the beast!" There is a bug in Yast2, as Ben suspected, that doesn't detect the 2nd CPU. I used Yast1 to force an upgrade, replacing "ALL" files. Yast1 provides an option to install the kernel of choice....SMP is "alive and well" on "the beast!" So far, all seems to be well with the 2.4.0SMP kernel....one SUPER FAST mulit-media monster! Matrox G400 support ISN'T what it should be....that is, the XFree drivers aren't anywhere where they should be to take advantage of what that card can do. Other than that, so far, I'm VERY pleased! NEWBIE QUESTION about RAIDCARD

Hi Susers, Hello guys!!! I need some suggestion on what to do on activating the RAID 1 Level. As a I read from the documentation was to compile the kernel. We have a Suse 7.0 evaluation copy (2.2.16-SMP kernel) with a Ultra Wide SCSI RAID CARD AAA-131SA and 2 HDD 4 GB's. If I enable the RAID 1 on the kernel do i need to run the cron or any backup solution? Does those backup solution can copy the Boot or do I need to have a boot disk? What are the things that i need to consider before compiling the kernel? Do i need the raidtools package? Any help very much appreciated... Thanks. -- Jonathan J. Suse 7.1 and RealPlayer8

I am a recent Suse convert and am using 7.1. When attempting to install the rpm version of RealPlayer8 I am getting an "unknown architecture" error message ...any thoughts?...I considered trying the non-rpm version but am unfamiliar with the .bin file format so any thoughts in this regard are welcome as well... Hello SuSE folks, Just recently I've noticed that in SuSE 7.1 soft link /etc/init.d/~init.d does not exist. May that is a problem why I couldn't install Vmware on another box. Could somebody tel me please how to recreate this soft link. Just 'ln -s /etc/initd /etc/init.d/init.d' doesn't seem to be working. Thanks in advance.
