[SLE] Apache permissions

Hello, Can somebldy please give me some pointers. I would like to use Apache as a proxy server. I can access the local web pages but it can't browser the web. I get the following error " client denied by server configuration" can any one point me in the right direction. [SLE] Creating reiserfs (formatting)

Hello all, particulary Francois: Francois, you asked abou creating Reiser-Filesystem. Don't know wether there was the answer, I tried that today it's plainly "mkreiserfs /dev/XXX". [SLE] Sendmail problem..

Hi, I'm trying to set up my mail at home and am having a small problem. I've followed the guideline in the SuSE manual (6.3) but I just can't get it to send mail externally correctly. The hostname is setup as pc.domain.com When sendmail tries to send mail to the SMTP server (dialup) it sends the mail with the FROM field as me(a)pc.domain.com This causes a problem with a lot of destinations. For example if I try to send a mail to myself at work it bounes. Basically the server tells me that it won't accept the email since pc.domain.com is not a valid domain. This I can understand, since I don't have a permanent IP to use, only one that is given to me when I dialup. I think I need to get sendmail to fill the FROM field as me(a)domain.com but just can't get it to do so. I am using the rc.config file to set it up, but to no avail. These are my entries FROM_HEADER="irish-networx.com" SENDMAIL_ARGS="-bd -om" SENDMAIL_EXPENSIVE="yes" SENDMAIL_NOCANIFY="no" SENDMAIL_SMARTHOST="smtp:smtp.oceanfree.net" SENDMAIL_LOCALHOST="localhost pc.irish-networx.com" SENDMAIL_TYPE="yes" I am using Kmail as my mail agent, and have set the identifcation correctly, and the reply-to-address, but still the mail goes out as me(a)pc.domain.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello SuSE-linux-e, I'm using Linux SuSE 6.2 now Does SuSE privide a desktop mailing list, a mailing list that discuss about Desktop, WindowManager, MP3, Games, Customize the Desktop and more like that.. Please tell me, if theren't please provides one Like in My countries, in www.linux.or.id There is discussion about this too.. One more where is the fastest ftp site in ASIA for find SuSE program in RPM format ? For Example I want to download new version for AfterStep (Why Why SuSE 6.2 provides AfterStep 1.0 ?), I want it from Official SuSE site, because if I download from Official Site, there is some different and some trouble too (this I can't explain) THaNk'S a lOt .. BTW, if /usr is on it's own partition and it fills up does it affect the OS? [SLE] DSL weirdness.

Hello All, I've been trying to get this to work all night, with very nasty results. Today I got DSL installed at home, and my previous setup was my Linux box (SuSE 6.3) serving as a dial-up gateway for the LAN (this NT machine where I'm writting this email at, and a BeOS box). I thought, no sweat. I have two NICs installed as: eth0 ip: 200.213.112.4 net: 255.255.255.0 gw: 200.213.112.1 and eth1 ip: 192.168.194.1 net: 255.255.255.0 What do you know? When the RJ-45 jack is connected to eth0, I can ping the gateway, and my boxen can ping eth0. I can ping my hosts, and I can ping the gateway. When I try pinging anything else (like the ISP's DNS) I get a "Network is unreachable"!?! At first, I thought my DSL provider might be broken, but as it turns out, I changed the NT boxes config and plugged the cat-5 cable into it. Voila! Everything works perfectly. I cannot beleive that there would be some sort of incompatibility between the DSL and my Linux box. The only setup difference that I can perceive (TCP/IP wise) is that one of the boxes has 1 NIC and the other has 2. Maybe there's something I need to change from my eth1->ppp0 gateway to a eth1->eth0 setup?? I've been using yast for everything. Has anyone had trouble with a similar setup? [SLE] Fonts & teTeX & SuSE

Hi, I noticed that there are several fonts installed on the standard SuSE Linux 6.3 (and presumably also on SuSE6.4) One of those fonts is b&h Lucida, which happens to be our default font. I'd like to use this font from within latex. Does anyone know which of the lucida packages I should use (lucidabr, lucidbry, ...) Or should I use something completely different. Or is the problem not in latex, but in xdvi and dvips? [SLE] program priorities.

Issue: How does one change the priorities for a program for memory/cpu resource allocation? Example: Sometimes when swap is being committed to disk or a resource intensive process takes place in the background, my entire gui gets sluggish. The mouse does not move/staggers around etc. This should not happen! The mouse should get the first priority for 3 reasons (a)It does not take much in resources (b)What if I am trying to move my mouse to kill the offending process? To click on a cancel button? If my mouse is frozen when the process is executing, the whole purpose of a cancel button is defeated! (c) What if I am playing xboing? Background processes would destroy the smooth paddle movement!!! In BeOS, multimedia bandwith is far greater the ui bandwidth; you can play six different mp3 at the same time and your mouse will slow down to a crawl but all six mp3s will play beautifully. I am trying to achieve the opposite of this!! This seems like it should be intuitive and default on linux. I get this error - I ignore it and everything is hunky dory. :) Don't take that as general advice. It happens on my system because I've installed Linux on my Secondary Master hard drive (0x82 - as Mr Muzh says) But I'm installing LILO on my Primary Master. And as I know it will boot from device 0x80 (Primary Master, HDA) then I ignore the message.
