You might try the O'Reilly book "Practical Unix and Internet Securiy" It does take more of a broad UNIX view, but almost all of it applies. [SLE] Software Raid

Hi, Does anyone has experience in setting up software raid right from the start, using the SuSE setup bootdisk? Setting up software raid after the SuSE is install in not a problem. However, I would like to setup software raid 5 right from the beginning when installing SuSE to a new PC Server. Like to know if this is possible and whether do I need to customize the bootdisk. [SLE] Internal DSL Card Drivers

Hello, everyone. I have a friend who rather rashly opted for the Cisco 605/Intel 2100 internal DSL modem/router when he signed up for DSL a few months ago. He actually has the Cisco variant rather than the Intel one, but he tells me it is the same card. He just upgraded from Win98 to W2K on the machine that contains the card, and then found out there are no W2K drivers for it. So, he is out of luck right now. We were wondering if anyone knows of any drivers for Linux for this card. Even beta drivers would be better than nothing. This guy has been a semi-devout RedHat user for a while, but has tried just about every distro out there (even LinuxOne today and the damn thing actually worked ! who'd have thought it ?) except SuSE. I have almost got him converted to SuSE since I am having such great success with it (SMP works, sound works, Apache works, the network works, OpenGL works; it all just works) and he is looking for a distro to settle into. If we can find drivers for his DSL card, we might just win him over. Hope someone out there can help. I'm getting close on the set-up for HylaFax, but when I go to send a fax I get the message "Can not connect to host 'localhost' on port 4559". [SLE] Printing from networked W98.

I have set up a Lexmark optra color 40 to print with postscript. It workes fine in Linux. I can print from cli, star office and Netscape with no problems. But when I try to print with my laptop over an ethernet connection it just spews out junk. I can't figure out what's wrong. I don't even know where to start looking. I set up the printer through yast. This is my Samba config file. And I have installed the newer version of lprold from SuSE. I also reinstalled the drivers for the windows computer.
