[SLE] YaST won't run...

Hi, having a problem running yast: I type in 'yast' and all I get is a blank screen, which I can only exit by pressing control-c. Hi, people. Under SuSE 6.2, while revising some older `/var/adm/messages' today, I noticed a few strange `(null)' fields, and in one case one empty field. Here are examples (dates are converted to ISO 8601 by my listing script). One of my friends is insisting on running win98 & 2k and now wants SuSE 6.3 on it as well (laptop) the only reason why he wants 98 is because of some device drivers that 2000 can't support yet and also so he could run his voice recognition software. Hi all Does anyone know the cause of this message: failed services in runlevel 0= at It appears as the last message after halting the system. Normally the message would say that runlevel 0 has been reached, but recently it has shown this message. I am running SuSE 6.3 Pentium installation. [SLE] NT Authentication (PAM ?)- Internet access thru MSProxy

Hi, I have recently convinced my peers to allow Suse Linux on site - one problem I cant seem to resolve is gaining Internet access thru an MSProxy server that is authenticating users against the NT domain. I had a look at the corresponding PAM module but could very little information for using it to gain authenticated access to domain services. Is it possible to go thru MSProxy that is authenticating user or am I wasting my time ? Needles to say i could find very little info from MS for allowing non windows clients. [SLE] Intellimouse Explorer USB

Hi all, I successfully configured my IntelliMouse Explorer (USB) under SuSE 6.3 with the updated USB script rpm (0.5.16). BUT I'm having a couple of minor problems on which you can maybe shed some light: (1) Sometimes when I click on a window (or any other item for that matter) to activate it, I get no response. I have to click a number of times for the action to have some effect. Then again sometimes the window or the item is immediately activated. It's almost as if I clicked "between" the intervals in which the mouse action is read. My first instinct was to play around with the baudrate and the samplerate, without a clue of what I was doing... (2) When I leave the mouse after wondering around with the pointer a bit, the pointer keeps moving very slowly (by 1 pixel each second or so) in the direction of my last movement, which is particularly annoying when I'm scrolling up and down on the Net. (3) Has anyone managed to configure the mouse wheel in such way that it behaves like a "scroller" (its intended purpose)? My mouse entry in XF86Config is configured with IMPS/2 protocol and is using /dev/usb/usbmouse 0 which I created using "mknod /dev/usb/usbmouse0 c 10 32" according to "How to get USB devices working under Linux" (http://dynamine.net/linux-usb/HOWTO). Hi, On my Compaq 1670 (also with the Rage LT chipset) I just installed the Mach64 server with yast and used sax to set it up. The version of XFree in SuSE 6.3 should handle your hardware without much difficulty. Hi Folks, I want to use kfm or kdehelp as the "browser" for HTML email attachments. NB I do _not_ want to use kmail! Using kdehelp is fine as far as a self-contained HTML attachment is concerned, since you can invoke it with 'kdehelp filename'. However, sometimes there is an external URL in the attachment, and to look at this I need (am obliged) to pass via a proxy web server (UK academic web use restrictions). Now, kdehelp does not have provision for configuring a proxy, whereas kfm does have provision. Now my question: How can I start up kfm with a filename argument? 'kfm filename' does NOT work! Is there some "sub-client" of kfm which can be started in this way?
