the boot creation in suse 6.3 created two kernels in the boot disk, one called linux and the other suse what is the diference of these two? I use Star Office pretty regularly to read and edit such files. Two problems I have noticed are: 1. If you save the xls document with Star Office, you will have random format glitches when you return to Excel. For example, random boxes might be outlined on one or two sides or shaded. These are easily fixed. More troublesome are font incompatibilities, such as I have had with Greek letters. 2. I think Star Office is supposed to be able to convert tab-separated text to spreadsheet format as Excel does. I have so far never accomplished this. Star Office has invariable opened such files as word processor documents. Otherwise, it's very much like using Excel and perfect for viewing Excel-generated documents. Hello: I have a problem with sendmail. I have two machines with sendmail 8.9.3, one of them has a public IP and it can send mail to Internet, the other one has a private IP. I want to send mail to Internet from the second machine. [SLE] Desperate situation: partition table is gone

I have windows :( and Suse 5.3 :) on the same disk. I got a virus on the windows partition and I cleaned it with McAfee VirusScan. It happened that the virus was in the "partition table" and McAfee removed the partition table, and replaced it by one which contains only one DOS-16 partition. What can I do ? Is it possible to retrieve the old information of the partition table ? Thank you a lot. [SLE] TV Cable Modem

Hi all, At this moment I use ISDN connection to my ISP. But now I can get an TV-CABLE connection which is much faster than ISDN. But does SuSe 6.0 support this kind of connections, and what kind of software is needed for this kind of connection. Are there any TV-CABLE MODEMS supported yet. Can I use masquerade under Linux, as I do with ISDN? Does somebody have allready experience with TV-Cable. What about security etc. Any comments, or suggestions are wellcome. I seem to remember hearing abot this as a bug in kppp. Apparently it uses an incorrect method of finding out if the kernel can do ppp. The method worked before, but now it doesn't.
