If it by chance does work, the information is garbled and the windows fat gets messed up. If I access a windows partition on another computer it works perfectly but not on my own compter. What can I do to get everything to work again. After umounting and mounting /dev/hda5 I can read the HD but garbled. Here are the Error Messages from the Xconsole. Using Sony Memory Stick with SuSE?

I received a Sony Mavica FD85 for Christmas, the jpeg photos and mpeg saved on a regular 1.4 floppy with a .htm file work great with SuSE, and kfm. I clisk on the .htm file and it lists all the photos on the disk, just click on a link and the phot is brought up with kview and I use MTV to view the mpeg video. Sony sells a memory stick and floppy adapter to work with this camera, does anyone know if that will work with linux as well or does it require windows software? If windows only, does anyone know of any work being done to port a linux product? thnaks in advance joe

If i can remember right, a PC mag i saw reported: P4 1.5GHz - 880MFlops (approx) Athlon 1GHz - 1200MFlops (approx) Although admitidly P4 is better than Athlon at 3D games performance... A hub or switch pushes packets onto the network that are picked up by the interface on the computer that matches the address of the packet. The switch does not send it to the correct computer per-se (ethernet does not work like that). The advantage of a switch over a hub is that you can segment your network. The switch can decide which segment a packet is destined for and only send it out on that, rather than on the whole network. This obviously can reduce network load, but you do need to carefully decide on your segmantation policy. There is no point putting all the busy computers in putting all the busy computers on one segment. The second advantage of a swicth is it allows you to overcome the distance limitations inherent in ethernets. Each segment can be as big as the maximum allowed for an ethernet. You cannot say switches are "better" than hubs per-se. They are better for your situation. They are a pointless waste of money for a home network with 5 computers on it. Cliff

After this, if I try to unmount this device I have to wait for about 2 minute to get it complete, but I'm never able of remounting it. I only get a lot of 'lost interrupt' kernel messages, and a '/dev/hdb: Input/output error' bash message. Any idea about how can I get this working?
