Copy it to /usr/src/linux/.config and customize away.

I know when you install one via yast it will ask you if you want to overwrite the exsisting one. If want one for the kernel you are running just goto the /usr/src/linux directorry and type "make cloneconfig" and it will build you one. Very nice SuSE feature.....
