[SLE] Sendmail help needed

I am trying to open a limited relay for sendmail 8.9. The SuSE 6.3 box is on a FQDN with an ip in the 168.58 range. The clients trying to use the mail are not on IP's that resolve with domain names and they are in the 172.16 IP range. I have added the ip 172.16 to the /etc/mail/access file and rehashed it according to directions on sendmail.org but it is still denying relay. [SLE] Why does vmware trigger a dial-up connection?

Hello. I recently installed the vmware that came with SuSE Linux 6.3. For some reason, as soon as the vmware-bootscript starts at bootup-time, a dial-up connection to my ISP is triggered (I use wvdial dial-on-demand). I have run vmware-config.pl a few times to weed out what triggers this. When I removed network-support, no dial-up connection was triggered when I ran the /etc/rc.d/vmware script. When I enabled host-only networking, a dial-up connection was triggered. When running the /etc/rc.d/vmware script, I see that it starts: Starting VMware services: Virtual machine monitor done Virtual bidirectional parallel port done Virtual ethernet done Bridged networking done Host-only networking (background) done I dont need bridged networking, but I am not sure how to disable it. I also see some lines like these in the /var/log/messages file: jan 31 16:51:08 pc VMware[init]: Reply from 194.19.0.141: Destination unreachable jan 31 16:51:08 pc VMware[init]: jan 31 16:51:08 pc VMware[init]: Reply from 194.19.0.141: Destination unreachable I have absolutely no idea where this IP-address 194.19.0.141 comes from, and it does not seem to have any reverse lookup in the DNS. Well, I'd like to know for certain where my CD's came from (at work and unable to verify where the were pressed at). Anyone have their CD's handy? If so, look at the reflective side of the cd, near the center hole, you'll see some bar code and reflective lettering (Ident Band). Look and see what is listed there, and please note if there is a logo (like Sonopress) on the CD's. Can you also redirect those to me, and I'll formulate the results and post them, since this really isn't SuSE Related. Just a curious CDphile. You've been had! Us Euro-types have finally come out ahead in something!! Just an FYI: When I upgraded a couple of weeks ago - I could NOT boot from CD2. Every time I tried, I received a message saying that it "could not find the image". I had to boot from CD1, and I never saw YAST2 - only YAST1. At least one other person on this list also experienced the same behavior. Since I was upgrading, this was no big deal (I wanted to use YAST1 anyway) - but it was a bit confusing. [SLE] Permissions etc

SMART is a self-monitoring system for hard disks. Try "wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf".
