hey guys, I just wanted to thank you for the advice. As for the guy who implied about my S/N well, there's nothing i can say, but whoever can't handle my S/N shouldn't be answering my questions anyways. you'd think they'd be mature enough to handle it. I use this name on a regular basis so i don't see how it would affect anyone else. To anyone who knows, i am hanving problems with my network card now. It recognizes it and everything but when i tried to change the rc.config file i realized that it wasn't really recognizing it. i mean the netconfig was set to 0 and as soon as i popped it to _1 i had a bunch of network errors on bootup. My squid, and cron deamon failed to load. Hi, seen the frequency of some questions (one for all: 'pppd daemon died unexpectedly'... ;), shouldn't be a good idea to make and maintain a page of 'SuSE Linux mailing list FAQ' where to put the solution to the most common problems of SuSE?? Does something similar exist? I don't think so. The guys asking should only look at that page and joy... If someone is interested, tell me. Eventually I volunteer to host and maintain it. [SuSE Linux] BRU with SuSE6.0?

I seem to remember at one point SuSE was expecting to ship 6.0 with a PE of BRU. I haven't seen it. Is there one on the dist? Am I remembering things correctly? /biz/needs/linux/support/ Greetings- As a connoisseur of Linux, I delight in using and promoting the SuSE distribution with all the amenities in applications and scripts, it is with joy that many users in the U.S.'s largest state have joined in this venture. Having said this, there remains a desparity between the two sites suse.de and suse.com in content, information and offerings. As an example, today is 3-21-99 in Anchorage, AK, and viewing the URL <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/index_us.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/index_us.html</A">http://www.suse.com/index_us.html</A</A>> I see a total of 5 bulleted points of interest. None new in nature, unless you didn't know about 6.0 being released. Granted, <A HREF="http://www.suse.de/e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.de/e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.de/e/index.html</A</A>> has more, but you don't get sent to this page when you access the map at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com</A">http://www.suse.com</A</A>>. Now on <A HREF="http://www.suse.de/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.de/</A">http://www.suse.de/</A</A>> there are today, 18 bulleted points of interest with "new" tags as well on some. These tags range from a new beta release to new software updates. Now, I am employed as a professional in the data world, have vendors calling on us daily, as we have offerings ranging from ATM services to dry pairs, dialup Internet to OC3's, retail Long Distance to wholesale MTS and more. I visit conferences as often as time permits, and I do seek the vendor information necessary to make a critical judgement. Why should it be different using SuSE's web sites ? I will be marketing to users world wide and will be using someone's distribution, and a web site that has current info is going a long way to cutting down costs for our company and the vendor. Therefore, I entreat the folks in charge of the English site to help in working out a new push for quality in the English web site, consistent with the main thrust of SuSE. [SuSE Linux] Help with wu.ftpd

<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>I am trying to configure wu.ftpd so that when a user logs in, they will not be able to go above their home directory and that their home directory will look as /. I am not allowing any anonymous users to be able to login. Hello guyz, I've been having a recurring problem with ApACHE... it keeps telling me "sqlinit .. DRBOOT must be a directory or defined" and won't load up when i type httpd. Any suggestions?
