I just plugged some headphones into the cdrom and I can certainly hear the funky tunes pouring out of the cd player but nothing gets to the speakers... the little grey cable that connects the audio out to the soudn card is well and truly ther and it works fine under Win32 as I said... hope this helps to solve the prob.. -A Abhinav Keswani wrote: > > allo > > I have been having very annoying problems trying to play audio CDs. [SLE] printing through an NT service

Printing from my linux machine through a win print server stopped working. I've configured it to configure printer trough samba (or similar wording) in yast. It worked for a few days than it stopped working. It doesn't give an error or anything it just doesn't print. Run at Boot

Ok, I tried to run something at boot (boot.local), with one problem. It seems that it was running before the network drivers were loaded. I need this daemon to run at runlevel 2(?), whichever is the last one it reaches before it drops you to the login prompt. Hello, emails are appearing in my SuSE folder, which have my Subject lines, sent from postmaster(a)huzd002a.te6.siemens.be Everytime I post, I receive my post via the thread as well as this thing with the same exact Subject line. What is it? The contents are always the same. [SLE] 6.3 probs

Happy New Year everyone! Santa came through with a copy of SuSE 6.3 for me. I've installed it twice now, once with Yast2 and once with old Yast. No problems w/ Yast2 as I use the entire disk and put Lilo in the MBR. However, I have a couple of little tiny problems that I am trying to get rid of. First, how do I get rid of that darn UPS deamon that sits in my modem? I've read and searched and have tried some things but can't rid myself of it. Secondly, Kppp is not saving my username and password after disconnect. Is this possibly related to the Upsd prob? Thirdly, what did SuSE do with all the taskbar icons, ie: mixer, cd player, kde control panel, etc.? I love my taskbar stuff so I am really disappointed about this ;-) All in all, SuSE is still the best and will continue to get my support. One last thought, will kernel support for BeOS filesystem be forthcoming? Would like to mount it under SuSE. Thanks a millenium! [SLE] SCSI Kernel Images

Hello, on a 5.3 CD there are SCSI kernel images in suse/images. I can't find them in the 6.3 release on the Ftp-server. They aren't either on a FreeX Suse 6.3 demo CD. I have built the kernel by hand. But in case I'm in a hurry I'de appreciate the SCSI images. Won't they be include in future releases? Is it intended to build the kernel by hand on a `profi'-box? [SLE] Setting up sbpcd in SuSE 6.3

I noticed that ever since I installed SuSE 6.3, my cdrom module loads and scans at each boot up. This really increases boot up time. I am using the sbpcd module With the default settings for my soundblaster pro cdrom. I never had this problem before ( didn't do this in previous releases 5.3- 6.2) so I don't know where the file is located that needs edited to stop this unnecessary scanning. Can anyone tell me which file I need to edit? I tried using YaST and selecting the soundblaster pro module again, but it doesn't seem to change it. I also looked at the rc.config and modules.conf, but could not find any mention of scanning.
