Hi guys'n'gals. I see that the lthreads package is back at 0.5-14 and at least version 0.71 is out. I am sure you will include the lastet one available to you before going to press, it's just that the 0.5-14 wouldn't work with some of the newer programs I've downloaded and I'd like to be sure at least 0.71 gets into 6.0. Probably an even later version ;) The real reason for this message, however, is the semi-new DHCP client. You already include the server (how much setting up have you integrated in YaST by the way? I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it's 'big stuff' if SuSE is to be used in a business environment). What I would like to see is the client included and an easy way to set it up. I just tried running the precompiled glibc binary and it seemed to function enough to not sigfault. Great! I have placed an order for Suse 5.3. In further reading on the Suse web site I did not find Real Audio listed in the list of applications with Suse 5.3. [SuSE Linux] PCI NE2000 ethernet adaptor and 2.035 kernel

Hi, I have my pci Realtek 8029 card working fine under Suse 5.1 . I am happy with this distribution and am waiting for 6.0 to upgrade. I did download the new 2.035 kernel just to get fat32, and in menuconfig some basic changes were made to the pci ne2000 setup. First there is a separate entry for PCI NE2000, whereas in the 2.031 kernel I used "Other ISA cards". To be brief, I have the card working as displayed with cat /prov/net/dev . It shows eth0; however during bootup, I get a single "No SIOAFFADDER" (spelling?) It is almost as if the kernel tries to find the card twice? So, which of the make menuconfig are to be selected for a PCI NE2000 clone such as the Realtek 8029? Well, I decided to try something. I took an older 14.4K internal modem, a non PnP type, configured it to COM3 ttyS2 on Linux and guess what? [SuSE Linux] SCSI/IDE Mixed system (works no problem)

Hia, I went and stole back my SuSE 5.2 from a friend. And I went and installed a mini SuSE system on the SCSI /dev/sda HardDrive and installed LILO on its /MBR and had it point to Linux and win98- which the win98 is on the IDE, and the SCSI HD is the boot disk. It had absolutly no problems. Windows is too stupid to know the SCSI was being read first(booted from) when picking win98 LILO from the SCSI. So having no problems I installed everything and the kitchen sink. ;) (still waiting for my SuSE 5.3 disks) Anyways here is my boot.msg from /var/log/ if you like to look at something.. Everything is smooth and I built a new kernel from 2.0.35-suse (get this in 2minutes 23 seconds w/ a PII 400 :P) wow..never built a kernel on a intel cpu before..of this size. I have to compile support for my network card in my kernel, you may have to as well. I feel bad for those of you who haven't been able to compile WindowMaker-0.19.1 on 5.3. Until you get an answer and are able to compile it yourselves, I packaged a binary tgz for you to download if you want. It was built on S.u.S.E. 5.2 so should be fine on 5.3 and is just under 2 megs gzipped.
