[S.u.S.E. Linux] gimp segmentation fault

When I start X at 32 bits/pixel, Gimp gives me a segmentation fault as soon as I start it. At 16 bits/pixel, Gimp functions normally. I am running SuSE 5.2 with whatever version of XF86 that comes with it. The Xserver I am using is XSuSE_Elsa_GLoria. Another problem of minor note is that xvidtune will not run. It will show the refresh rates, but will go no further. Any suggestions on how to fix these problems would be greatly appreciated. Hi, Depending when you want them to run will determin where you launch them from. If it is for the user, just put the call to them in the .profile fro that user. Actually it is a smartass wisecrack that originated in California I think. I regretted using it as soon as I sent the message. I still seem to have some pent up aggreession towards the answers I got when I was completly new to this Linux stuff.. I am glad you did not understand, for my own sake. Anyway. Lets have fun NOW.... I've tried to upgrade KDE (Beta 3) to the newest Beta 4 but it's giving me fits.. I've read somewhere in here that there is a certain order to install. I'm using YaST to do the upgrading.
