If you're using bash - the command is 'source .bashrc' As /bin/sh is linked to /bin/bash nothing additional is needed. Hi, I know this is a SuSe setup message board, but I have a simple little question. When I make changes to my .bashrc or .profile, I have to logout and relogon to have the change put into effect. I remember reading their is a command you can use to re-read the .bashrc file and put the changes into effect without reloging on. I just can't seem to find it now. Can you inform me of the command? I have been working on setting up a dial in server for my company to allow our customers to send data to us. With Bodo's suggestion (thanks bb) I was able to get my suse box to answer the phone. Now, how do I allow someone to dial in and transfer a file, without being able to navigate the file system?? Preferably, I would like to limit them to their home directory. Period. I have the exact same configuration, and problem. I only have two ISA slots and need them for my sound card and modem. I have a Intel 10/100 pro and the video card.
