Morning Guys, First I want to thank Bruno for helping me get on Factory. I want to let everyone that after the 10 hours. I am update and I have the openSUSE branding and can do all the screen shoots of Gnome and Apps. Please let me know what you need. I have attached two images, Jos here an updated image of Gnome with the branding, and Helen Firefox. For people wanting to dub (make a track with other languages): it's pretty easy to do with very lttle tools. A mike (for now I use simply a headset, the quality is bad but the sound easy to understand). Record a separate track while looking the clip. mix it with avidemux. The original track is mpg 250Mb. I can upload it to some server (including mine) if necessary. You also can send me the sound track and I can do the dubbing. I would like to add all the tracks on a single file, but don't know yet if it's possible and with what file format. Hi all, I noticed that there weren't any public openSUSE 11.3 AMIs, so I made some: openSUSE 11.3 (32-bit, S3) ap-southeast-1 ami-f6fa84a4 eu-west-1 ami-75d1e501 us-east-1 ami-42d82b2b us-west-1 ami-a3dd8de6 openSUSE 11.3 (64-bit, S3) ap-southeast-1 ami-fafa84a8 eu-west-1 ami-67d1e513 us-east-1 ami-f6d82b9f us-west-1 ami-b5dd8df0 These are JeOS + zypper and built with SUSE Studio. [opensuse-marketing] repository for the video team

Hello. I need some kind of repository (ies) for the openSUSE multimedia/video team. * one, private, to store the working parts (sound tracks in any langage, original mpg file for videos, photos/screen shots), all the parts that we need to make our final work. * one, public, to store medias in versions ok to the public at large. Could be (not immediately) video dvd isos, or clips for Youtube/Daylymotion and the like. That said, I don't understand well how blip works. What can we upload there, where will this be spread and how... if usefull, how can I have an account (personal or openSUSE official?). May be we need some sort of release shedule? The FLISOL is near(April 24), In Nicaragua we are preparing for this event, and try to promote opensuse and free software, I'm Planning to give a conference about opensuse 11.4, and the LUG of opensuse-ni are planning to have the release party of 11.4 in this FLISOL. Hi All GNOME 3 runs on openSUSE 11.3 and it is featured at GNOME3.org. [opensuse-marketing] Impromptu LCA2011 openSUSE survey

Hi All, A week ago I decided to run a little survey of attendees at the recent LCA2011 conference in Brisbane, Australia, to try to get a vague idea of how many use openSUSE. The original post is at: http://lists.followtheflow.org/pipermail/chat/2011-February/002002.html Here's the results (I suspect the number of members of the LCA2011 chat list is less than half the number of conference attendees, though possibly not by much). There were a total of 15 respondents. This list currently has 322 subscribers (possibly one or two more at the time the survey went out), so that's about 4.6% of people who responded. Note that I assumed the survey would be skewed towards possibly being ignored by non-SUSE users, given its nature. Total numbers are as follows. Excepting location, figures for each question come to more than 15, due to multiple answers being provided: 1) I live in: [12] Australia [ 2] New Zealand [ 1] Somewhere else 2) I regularly use: [ 7] openSUSE [ 5] SLES/SLED etc. [11] Anything else (i.e. a non-SUSE-based distro). [ 2] nominated Fedora as their "Anything else" 3) I use a SUSE-based distro because: [ 7] I like it. [ 5] My employer makes me do it. [ 6] WTF? I answered "Anything else" above. Give me a break. [ 1] "It has the best professional support currently available on the market" (added by one respondent) Perhaps unsurprisingly, there appears to be some rough correlation between: openSUSE -- I like it (6) SLES/SLED -- My employer makes me do it (4) There is also some small overlap between the "like it" and the "employer makes me do it" set (3). Also: - 4 respondents use something SUSE-based, *and* other distro(s). - 6 respondents don't use a SUSE-based distro at all (in case it wasn't obvious from the "WTF" answer above). Hope that was all somewhat interesting.
