Hello friends,
A long time ago asked zonker for a collection with the events for the
next year. So that he can plan the budget.
I begun to edit this site
http://en.opensuse.org/Ambassador/Events#Events_for_Ambassadors
First I killed the table with "Need Ambassadors". Think everyone can see
when the field "Ambassador" is empty that there is noone that support
this event. For better visibility I marked the empty events red.
I added two new fields: Page in the Wiki - that are the pages for
planning the event ;) and Presentation. Please fill in - visiting a
event is not really present openSUSE there ;)
I moved the table 2010 over 2009, think the year is nearly over ;)
Now I filled the table with the events in Germany, Austria and
Switzerland.
There are lot more of events! The Linuxwochen in Austria have 3 or 4
events more but I dont know the exactly date for them at this time.
There are not all events filled in, there are more events in North and
South America and Asia. So please fill in them.
We should use this page more, I dont know this week is foss.in in India
is there aopenSUSE Ambassador?

These links are pointing to the _next_ release of the weekly news ;-)
FYI: I added a big note on the 109 issue and translations page that
points the readers to issue 108. Feel free to remove the note before
releasing the real[tm] issue 109 ;-)

Guys,
I want to take this time and say sorry for those who feel I was
spamming the Facebook page. I wasn't trying too, just we have a lot of
events coming up around the world. Since we have over 4,000+ members,
that a good place to place the events.
I just saw the note from Andrew Jorgensen, I feel bad, I was only
trying to get the word about upcoming events so we can get openSUSE
members to go out and support them, he is calling for people to leave
the facebook page.
Again, I wasn't trying to spam people, I just want to get the events
out there so our members know them.

Have you tried SUSE Studio? Need to create a Live CD, an app you want

Hello all ,
Looking at the events i had suggestion for the same , i dont know
whether its being followed or not ( have not attended much) but i guess
its equally important.
What i feel is that during the events lets say fix a guy or two with cam
and mic who would be interviewing the people around and asking them
certain set of questions . And then posting it to a place where it be
easily accessible and later on to evaluate it well. The interview would
very much help in knowing others opinion and views towards the openSUSE
and its community and at the same time will help in bit of market the
product in events like FOSDEM , etc.The set of questions prepared should
be very small and content focused.
I am planning it for BITA [1] over here ( at my place) . Lets see if i
can make it through ( already very busy with studies ).
Waiting for the comments and opinions :)

Guys,
Tonight I have my openSUSE 11.2 party, yes it late, but it was due to
scheduling with the Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts and my work it got
postponded. But I am happy to say tonight was great party.
There were 40 people that showed up tonight event. I had pizza, chips
and cokes. As everyone came in I handle out the latest DVD to them.
Told them dig in to the food and get a drink.
I gave them a demo of openSUSE 11.2, hi-liting all the new changes to
openSUSE 11.2. I then took questions.
Next I talked about openSUSE LI-f-E, Build Services, and gave a demo
of SUSE Studio.
When the talk was over I gave out t-shirts, tux dolls, and gecko.
There was enough to give out to everyone.
I had about 30 left over DVD which I gave to Aaron the president of
A.L.E to use for two upcoming install fest, they usually use Ubuntu,
but he stated they would be happy to have the extra DVD.
Here is the link from there page...

Sorry no photos, the person with the camera, didn't show up.

Synopsis:
– Sure, we’re well past the November 2009 release date for
OpenSUSE 11.2, but we figure there’s never a bad time for a
distro release party! So please join our regional OpenSUSE
Ambassador, Chuck Payne, as he showers the crowd with free
11.2 install disks and discusses the work behind all the feature
additions and updates found in the latest OpenSUSE offering.
Chuck will additionally explain how any user can tinker with
OpenSUSE by building their own distro or appliance package
using the SUSE Studio online services.
Light refreshments and s.w.a.g. (courtesy of Novell / SUSE)
are also expected, along with a concerted effort to answer
anyone’s questions about OpenSUSE and the 11.2 release.

Hello,
A little status update for the first meeting openSUSE Art-Team. Since my
last mail, we interested new people to join the team. We have 10
interested people now.
The doodle vote ( http://doodle.com/k72vxes94u3wgt6d ) used 8 ppl right
now and the best termin is on saturday. But there are 3 people the cant
attend there.
ebbo cant on all dates, when u have some point there is important for u
tell us. So that we can respect ur points in the meeting. The same for
psankar and krish, hey can make it on saturday.
But there are 2 ppl they havent participate on the doodle vote yet.
Maybe here opinion change the date, thats possible.
I set the the last posibility for participate on the doodle vote on the
next satruday thats the 23rd. After that date I choose the date with the
most attendees and write on sunday an agende (tell ur point on wiki
page). I publish this agenda on the discussion page
(http://en.opensuse.org/Talk:Art_Team) behind the wiki page. So that all
can participate on it.
On monday we should announce ur meeting. ebbo made the point we should
make an protocol of the meeting. Thats right, I think we should use the
meetbot like all other teams and archive the log on
http://en.opensuse.org/Meetings/Archive
There is only one problem only ops can use the bot. I have to find out
who have operator rights in the chan.
One last point. henne tell me its ugly to crosspost on diferent lists
and he has right. Thats my last crossposting to marketing and artwork,
so make sure u have subscribed the artwork list and answer to this list
in the future.
