Hello friends,
A long time ago asked zonker for a collection with the events for the next year. So that he can plan the budget.
I begun to edit this site
http://en.opensuse.org/Ambassador/Events#Events_for_Ambassadors
First I killed the table with "Need Ambassadors". Think everyone can see when the field "Ambassador" is empty that there is noone that support this event. For better visibility I marked the empty events red.
I added two new fields: Page in the Wiki - that are the pages for planning the event ;) and Presentation. Please fill in - visiting a event is not really present openSUSE there ;)
I moved the table 2010 over 2009, think the year is nearly over ;) Now I filled the table with the events in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
There are lot more of events! The Linuxwochen in Austria have 3 or 4 events more but I dont know the exactly date for them at this time.
There are not all events filled in, there are more events in North and South America and Asia. So please fill in them.
We should use this page more, I dont know this week is foss.in in India is there aopenSUSE Ambassador?

a few days ago I made this site in the wiki

Some guys have added events there. Thats good, but I am sure there are more events out there. But one thing, the guys who add events and itself as ambassador for the event forgot to filling in things like "Page in wiki" or "Presentation" Please do that. On the site opensuse.org is on the right sidebar is showed the next event. That the event is there showed a entry in news.opensuse is needed. Only a few people can do that. For me in the last time FSundermeyer did that. But however do that need informations about the event and the openSUSE participation on it - that information comes from the wiki page ;)
I also did fill in the event Flisol there and made a page for it

There was a side for this event this year and only 2 places was filled in there. Hope this could be better next year. So please ambassadors from LATAM come out with your ideas for this event, it is time for beginning the plannings.

First of all, thanks for adding FLISoL, it's not a common and probably not so known (outside LATAM) activity, mainly because it's held in different countries on the same day.
I know it's hard to organize an event like that, and due to its nature it's a bit risky to put out dates at this moment. At least as for me, I am not sure that it's held on the same day year after year. What I am sure about is that I would like to see all of our Ambassadors doing an awesome job during FLISoL, and we obviously need our Marketing teams out there as well.
One thing that we should discuss are the chances to have openSUSE sponsor the event, but I am not sure if should sponsor the whole *huge event or just send material for Ambassadors/Marketing. I see pros and cons on the first one. I am working with a LUG here in Northern Chile, and we are going through a renewing process, updating website, assigning tasks, etc., and I am planing to have at least one talk on openSUSE for FLISoL. Last year I just could give away discs and talk to people about the benefits of openSUSE.

Well, I don't see the date confirm for FLISoL 2010 anywhere on the internet. Do you have the link so I can check?
