Hi! My name is Luis Lastra member of the LUGOS Chile user group,
Concepción, Chile and I want to know if there's any chance to get some
sponsor or support (DVD's and stuff) for a great show for the latin
america community called FLISOL (http://www.flisol.cl/2009/) It's a great
spot to show to new ,old, enterprise and goverment users the versatility
and power of OpenSuse.
By the way, the show is all around the country in almost every region
(12) [http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regiones_de_Chile] and I know that
there's a few more users asking for the same thing from my Country. We're
in touch and trying to make this to work (Ricardo Varas as example).
¿Is there any chance to get a "big one package" from you guys (if you find
this usefull for the community) and make ourselves the distribution in our
Country?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Hi folks!
On the opensuse-translation list there was a nice thread explaing the
correct use of the word openSUSE:
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-translation/2009-02/msg00050.html
AJ says that openSUSE is written without the "o" capitalized, always.
We should make use of this in the newsletter, even if the articles use
writes different (OpenSUSE, etc)
Regards,
Luiz

Hello Weekly News Team,
yesterday i called with Jan-Simon. He says me that a new Section is
wished from the different Projects. (Idea was from Bryen (suseRocks).
So i created an new Template for them. The new Section is called
"Projects Corner". The template can be found at:
http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/ProjectsCorner .
The Projects Corner can be published one per month. So the Projects can
be publish own Articles, that can't be found at Mailinglists and IRC.
I've created the Template 3 Corners: KDE, GNOME and Education. Every
Time if an Project has an Article ready, they can post it to the
Marketing List.
We are publishing this in the Projects Corner.

Hi Klaus, hi @all!
I slept a night over it. Lets summarize my toughts.
We use/used this rule of thumb:
normal - own notes/texts/parts/sections (e.g. done by editors or defaults)
italics - "cited" stuff (e.g. taken from blog posts)
bold - Headlines, special stuff, ...
I think its important to show the difference between "own" and "cited".
We could switch "normal" and "italics" meaning - but thats needs some
thoughts/discussion first. Personally found the currently used
splitting "natural" - but thats my impression.
Lets take the decision as topic for the next meeting.
@openSUSE Weekly Newsletter Team: please reply with your thoughts
@Klaus: Tnx for your feedback.
Best regards,
Jan-Simon

Hi all,
Time is running out to submit talks for LinuxTag. If you'd like to
submit something openSUSE related, please do so by February 28th. The
call for papers can be found here:
http://www.linuxtag.org/2009/en/program/call-for-papers.html
The entire text of the presentation does not need to be submitted by
Saturday, so you'll have time to revise as LinuxTag gets closer.
If you are submitting a proposal, please also drop me an email and let
me know so we can get the openSUSE day presentation line-up finalized.
Thanks!

Hello team members,
sorry for the delay of the german version of issue 60. My WLAN access point
kicked the bucked last weekend and into the bargain all around me was
carnival.
So, the geman issue 60 will be ready tonight.
Best greetings
