Hi all,
April 16-17 in Antwerp, Belgium, the Linux Open Administration Days will
take place. This free event offers a chance for LPI certification as
well as meeting and talking to linux sysadmins. There is a call for
presentations here: http://www.loadays.org/content/call-presentations
If you want to go and give a talk there about openSUSE tech - that's be
awesome. If you can't afford to go there due to travel or hotel costs,
let me know, we might be able to work something out ;-)
cheers,
Jos
Heya all,
I'm looking for a fun slogan or picture - something that makes people laugh.
Like a t-shirt saying "ROCK IS DEAD (and paper killed it)" or one of the
better xkcd comics ;-)
Something for a sticker, poster or a t-shirt...
Any ideas?
/jos
Hello my dear friends
The artwork team recently had a meeting in which a couple of ideas
were proposed. One of them is the Dream openSUSE Initiative. The idea
behind this proposal is to have a wider understanding of what a
desktop environment is for each of our users. All of us work with
openSUSE and many time we tweak and change our graphical environments
to fit our particular needs, we would like to know about these changes
that you have made to your graphical environment under openSUSE to
better determine what defaults work for our users. We are currently
gathering these screenshots here
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Dreamopensuse
The steps to be part of this investigative initiative are as follow
Set up your computer desktop they way you want it
Take a screeshot
Submit your screenshot at our wiki
Note: If your changes, settings or tweaks are not readily visible,
show us a screenshot of your settings managers or explain the settings
changes that you have made. This initiative is not about artwork as
much as it is about usability among our members. Therefore, when
submitting screenshots, make sure that your special usability settings
are also noticeable.
Note: The wiki page is not perfect, of you feel inclined to make
changes to it, please do so. :D

Hi All,
Have a look at this tee shirt design
http://www.24hoursloot.com/product/cc9bd180d7b570747ee5c052fa7007df
Either we can have such a design or order a few quantities with
openSUSE as its handle, would definitely look cool
Cost of 1 tee shirt is around 9 USD. However if we make our own, maybe
prices can go down.

FYI: ...and if you have a look at http://sourceforge.net/, you'll find
openSUSE-Education listed there *hooray*!
We are very happy that we have been selected. One question: is there
someone who can write something about it "somewhere"?
As Rich mentioned, there's also the possibility for a podcast, but
currently most of the developers and admins are busy with fixing
packages and keeping opensuse-education.org online. So if there's
someone who can participate, please stand up!

For those of you who receive other lists, there's IDLELO in Nigeria-Africa.
Do you think we can organize something there too?
The address is:

Have a lot of fun,

Hi to all
After the success of the fair in Cerea, we are invited to organize a
"openSUSE Night" in Milan.
The idea would be to present, in a famous "lug" of Milan, openSUSE.
We're planning to make the first presentation of openSUSE, with one or
two talks, then a Q&A space, and finally do "installation party".
Looking at the list of the types of events, I saw that this looks like
a "Launch Party", but, we are organizing that event for Feb. 25, maybe
a little late for a Launch Party.
What type of event I could use? Tips?
Since the event in my city, and being a guest of this "lug", I would
not need any kind of budget, but could really help me Marketing
material (Few promo DVDs, t-shirts, stickers, posters and the like).
Can I request the material here
(http://software.opensuse.org/promodvd) as usual?
Thank you in advance

Hi Team
Can someone please review the following post:
http://news.opensuse.org/?p=12535&preview=true
It's the same posting Marcus Rückert sent around via opensuse-announce.
If everything looks green in your eyes, please press the release button
(or tell me to do so ;-)
With kind regards,
Lars
