Carlos, We live pretty close. I'll try to setup things and see if we get some projection from the City Hall and talk this over with the Executive Board of the Escola Secundária de Estarreja. Since we are close, we try to develop a model (to be improved in the future) and you are welcome to join us. This has to be done post-labor hours or on a saturday. We can probably strectch the schedule for 8 hours. For later editions we can see how to include a LIP on it. I'm more interested in knowing what we should approach and which topics... After we get a plan and document it we should go for it, at least i plan to go for it. We can later try to do it in Aveiro or other locations. But for now we must thing over about the contents of this so we can present a proper document to the school and to the city hall. I also need to discuss with the school adminitration other issues, because those kids are actually minors and they might need parental permission for extra-school hours. In a way making it an official school workshop could probably cut the slack on us regarding those legal issues that rise with minors. Something to take a look later on. nelson. I also remember some pretty good efforts on behalf of our corporate partner. The NLD9 campaign was a pretty good effort, I could never understand why they abandoned that for the Enterprise version. It had impact, good visual identity, good strong message and oozed sophistication and reliability. The washed out green of the SLE10 campaign was a backward step IMNSHO. The point is I do have a bit of a handle on the history and I would have liked to participate earlier but circumstances didn't really allow, so the frustration has built over time. The Grey and Green pallet oozes solidity, dependability, sophistication. Excellent for a corporate market. Me, I'm a fan of Geeko, I managed to score a few of the magnet toy Geekos. Gad!! I would love a few thousand of those. I would package them with the retail box. Imagine them on the shop shelves, huge point of difference. HI everyone, I hope it's not late to tell you about it, I'd like to comment you about openSUSE Launch Party we made here in Lima, Peru. As it was announced, it took part on Beeznest Latino offices and we could meet some people interested on the openSUSE Project. We could also spread the word about the openSUSE distribution, as a replacement for closed source OS's and other known Linux distros. Here in my country, openSUSE isn't well known yet, so we're making the necessary to change this. Hello Ambassadors and friends. First, I'm so glad about our meeting today, we have a good quality in numbers of participants and contents. Thanks for everyone! Just for formalizations and to let everyone able to understand what we are planning to do for the openSUSE Ambassadors Program, I updated our Ambassadors Meeting page with a link to the meeting log. Thanks again for the VERY GOOD contributions sent by lupinstein, sakana, HelioReds, alexbariv, Barry-Ni, kknundy, kkemenczy, rtyler, oprea_luci, manugupt1 and gnokii. Sure, all of you had sent very valuable contributions and points to the table. Some action that we got are listed bellow: * CarlosRibeiro help to define/purpose a better plan for Ambassadors reports * Every ambassador should aggregate her/his blog on planet.opensuse.org * Carlos, lupinstein and sakana will work as volunteers to help running the ambassador program smoothly * CarlosRibeiro sends a mail to the Ambassadors ML, asking about what is missing on Welcome page * Barry-Ni` to research other Ambassador programs for comparative purposes, and if possible find volunteers to help him with research * Carlos will publish topics for the next Ambassadors meeting at Aug. 17th, same hour. and some good points and infos that we talked about and we need to take care about it: * Not enough Media to distribute during events for 11.2 * Install fest works great but needs more attention * We decided that more interactions between Ambassadors is needed. * Need more than one method of channel to communicate with ambassadors * Not enough Media to distribute during events for 11.2 * Lack of reports after Ambassadors attend events * Next meeting - August, 17 sounds good for most part of the Ambassadors Team ? Some fellows said that we have no votes up there, then... I would like to invite everyone on this list to vote some topics to help with directions for the next meeting, please we only need "Yes" or "No" as answers, letting more details about topics that WE pickup as valid for the next meeting, because next meeting will not be if "does we need or not" will be "how to be do it" * Does we need to create templates for productive and collaborative reports? * Does we need to develop Ambassadors welcome and first steps landing page? * Does we need to take a look any free and available collaboration tool for Ambassadors program? * Does we like to have Ambassadors Uniform? * Does we believe is necessary to look around and have a brief idea of how other distros are working with similar Ambassadors program? * Does we need to know who is using openSUSE (corporations). Is this kind of information important for us? Last but not least, I would like to invite all Ambassadors to update their respective Users page, with a little introduction about them selfs to help us to know a little bit more about each other ;-) and be more productive next meeting.
