ssh problem

I downgraded one of my computers to 15.2 because this is the only way to have a sound. After my NFS server problem has been solved now, I have one more problem, i.e. I cannot access to this computer, called "pachew", by ssh. When ssh is invoked from outside, no prompt for a password appears, but any connection is immediately refused, and this error message appears: "ssh: connect to host pachew port 22: No route to host" Any suggestions? And it provides (ISP defaults) two SSIDs, one "normal" and another at 5GHZ. Names like these: sagemcomXXXX and sagemcomXXXX-5G This is apparently typical of ISPs here. Looking at network manager settings, I noticed that I can choose the band, or set it to auto. All the settings are the same, I could use the same configuration, and let automatics choose one or another band - but no, the SSIDs are different. If it were possible to tell NM in a single profile to use a different SSID for each band, I could do that. The GUI certainly doesn't allow it. It seems I'd better set the band manually on each of the two profiles (now it is 'auto'), so they don't waste time probing. I don't know if I should fuse both configs into one on the router, same SSID - or not, I don't know what caveats there would be. And, here there may be later other machines using Windows or Android. One thing I noticed is that my laptop connects almost instantly. On the old router, it could take several seconds to connect. And a curiosity: if it can not connect, the XFCE desktop does not recover the open apps of the previous session, it is empty. Ideas, considerations? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. oS 15.3 KDE mounting removable drives

My oS 15.3 / KDE (up-to-date as of today) does not pop up a window offering some activity when a removable USB drive is connected. The devices show up correctly in the system in general and can be mounted. But there is no activity in KDE. When looking at the Device Actions in the system configuration, I see that in the Open with File Manager menu, it says that "The device property Drive Type must equal Floppy" must match. A couple questions: Do USB drives have this property? How can I determine what the Drive Type for a USB disk is? How can I remove this requirement? I see that the field for Floppy is text, not a list of predefined types. Of course, it might be some other of the properties defined in this menu. I have: Ignored must equal false Usage must equal FileSystem type is StorageAccess DriveType must equal Floppy Do folks where this is working have the same settings? -- Roger Oberholtzer

Hello, I recently noticed my ISP (french "Free") that give me a new modem, in fact was giving a real computer. This computer have 4Gb ram (extendable up to 16Gb at least) and *4* sata disks places, raid capable. I fitted them with two old 350Gb laptop HDD and could create a raid1 array (ext4). then I could create a virtual machine (I don't know what is the software used, proprietary interface). Right now only for test purpose, 1Gb ram and 50Gb HDD. This FAI provided several templates as guest. One of them was openSUSE JeOs!! - the modem is arm powered (armada 8040). This install went perfectly well. less than 1.2Gb install :-). I had and could easily extend the disk and the system from 2Gb to the 50Gb size wanted. Yast is available. What I would like to know is is I can use it like my favorite Leap 15.3, server mode. The VM is EFI and BTRFS. Are the available applications for arm identical with the amd64 ones? any thing I have to know? The wiki is very short about jeos (https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:JeOS) thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org

Burnett County authorities, including Sheriff’s Deputies and Medical Examiners, responded to the scene of a death in November 2020. A Burnett County Sheriff’s Deputy’s body camera showed a wallet being removed from the deceased person’s pocket and also showed that there were multiple $100 bills located in the wallet. Former Medical Examiner Sara Stadler is also captured on the video footage, handling the wallet and cash. Funeral home staff members who were at the scene of the death offered to take the wallet into their possession and provide it to the family of the deceased the next morning, according to the criminal complaint filed against Stadler. Stadler told them no, and stated that the Medical Examiner’s Office had a policy about taking possession of cash and bringing it to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Burnett County Sheriff’s Investigators were later advised by Human Resources that there is no such policy. The criminal complaint states that the Medical Examiner’s report did not mention recovering a wallet or billfold from the scene, or of any cash being counted, and no property report log was filled out regarding any cash. When Stadler was asked to bring the wallet to the funeral home to give it to the family, she stated that she could not make it at that time, but that she would mail it. The criminal complaint goes on to state that approximately two weeks later, a family member of the deceased came to the funeral home to ask about the wallet as it had still not been received. Funeral home staff contacted the Medical Examiner’s office, and asked about the location of the wallet. Another Burnett County Medical Examiner checked the safe at the Medical Examiner’s office where the wallet should have been, but did not find it. Stadler was contacted about the wallet, and she advised that it was in a manila envelope in a cupboard at the office. The criminal complaint states that the wallet was found, but there was no cash inside the wallet; only an ID and a social security card. Criminal charges were filed against Stadler in August 2021, including Class I Felony failure of a public employee to perform non-discretionary or ministerial duty; and Class G Felony theft from the person of another or from a corpse. Online circuit court records show that Stadler is scheduled to make an initial appearance on her charges in October 2021.
