[opensuse] Unable to mount /dev/sr0

Leap 15.1-1 I inserted a DVD into the dvd drive, and waited to see if it would auto-mount. Hi, In the past I have used cpulimit to limit the CPU percent used by a process. But I'm having dificulties. AME cpulimit -- limits the CPU usage of a process SYNOPSIS cpulimit [TARGET] [OPTIONS...] [ -- PROGRAM] DESCRIPTION TARGET must be exactly one of these: -p, --pid=N pid of the process -e, --exe=FILE name of the executable program file -P, --path=PATH absolute path name of the executable program file ... [opensuse] Mate Panel does not display app icon

Leap 15.1-1 Mate Window Manager has a problem displaying an active icon on the taskbar. AND ... if I iconify that app, it DISAPPEARS!!!! I have to use the command line to find it's pid and kill it. [opensuse] Another couple of curious things with KDE - 15.1

One recent issue with KDE is when I click on a task bar item to select from several open windows for an app, sometimes I only get a few out of dozen or so open windows. On occasion, those few will have a large blank area down to the other task bar. Clicking again will present the entire list. The other thing that's been happening for quite some time is pressing Alt-F2 does not open the box for entering a command. [opensuse] Soon after starting rsync command, kernel oopsed and machine collapsed.

Leap 15.0 I'm backing up machine with rsync to another machine which is using rsync daemon. After doing some changes to the excludes/includes, the machine showed high i/o load, and desktop became not responsive. Managed to switch to VT 1. There was still about 2 GB of ram free. message log showed kernel trouble. I switched back to GUI, became unresponsive again, back to VT 1, machine would not respond to commands, not even to reboot. [opensuse] Clone disk

I have a user (openSUSE 12.3 - I know...) that wants to clone the root disk. In fact, long ago, they did this. But apparently both they and I have forgotten exactly what we did... The disk copy went ok. dd the entire thing from one disk to another of the same type. We always mount by_id since there may be multiple disks. So, after the dd, one needs to mount the new disk and edit /etc/fstab with the new disk's ID. This has been done. The boot seems to then be looking for the correct disk. However, the boot does not happen. It just hangs. The kernel command line is the only thing printed. I do not have the disk in my possession (it's on a different continent). So, before I tell them to send it to me, I just want to be sure that I have not missed another step. Could there be a need to remake the initial ram disk? Is the disk id in there as well? If one has to do mkinitrd, how can one do that on a mounted disk (not the system's root disk)? Educated guess of what to check: Leap 15.1-1 firefox 68.0.1-x86_64 ^^ thunderbird 60.7.2-x86_64 ^^ While you should be able to mix FF 68 with TB 60, TB does use common libraries with FF. If there is confusion coming out of sleep on which libs to use, I can see that leaving one or the other non-responsive (which should not occur, but stranger things have happened) Is there any reason you want FF 68 instead of the current 60.8esr? [opensuse] PA fixed!

Thank you to whoever fixed PA! Before I did the latest upgrade to OS, TW, I had to re-set the audio output of YouTube every time a new item played. Now that is no longer the case, and when a song or video starts, the sound comes up as you would expect it to, without monkeying with the PA settings. Thank you once again for fixing this. Leap 15.1-1 firefox 68.0.1-x86_64 thunderbird 60.7.2-x86_64 1. Ater resuming from S2D, non of the firefox windows are responsive, even though I am actively connected to the internet. 2. When composing a message in TB to to ML, TB it defaults to the PARAGRAPH format, in spite of turning off that option (unchecking the box for paragraph), AND setting the send options for opensuse to text only.
