[opensuse] sox with mp3 support

Hi, all -- I just tripped over "no handler for file extension `mp3'" in the stock SoX v14.4.2 on Leap 42.d. Bummer. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't be there because I've been using 14.4.0 (and probably earlier) on KNOPPIX forever. Is there an easy way to add it and/or is there an mp3-enabled SuSE RPM instead? [opensuse] OpenSUSE Dell PowerEdge 1900 and SAS1068

Hello guys. I'm trying to install OpenSuSE on an old Dell PowerEdge 1900 server with SAS1068 controller and 4 disks of 285GB each. The installation runs normally, however after the reboot, the operating system is not found (does not recognize the boot partition) At first I tried to create two mirror type arrays (2 disks per array). As it did not work, I then created two stripping arrays and lastly I tried to install it with no defined array, but none of the alternatives worked (no booting after OS installation). [opensuse] 42.3 hugin in English ?

I installed 42.3 hugin, the image stitcher. When I start it, it presents a window labelled in Dutch. I cannot find any way of getting a display in English. How is this done? [opensuse] How to never check for updates?

Hello, I'm new to the list and have just installed Leap 42.3 64bit with GNOME 3.20.2 on a Lenovo laptop. The laptop is intended for use in remote areas with low internet bandwidth. In order to reduce internet traffic as much as possible, I would like to prevent the system from checking for updates altogether when it's online in low-bandwidth areas. However, - I can't find the option to never check for updates in YaST2 > Online Update Configuration. - GNOME Software Updater configuration as described in Start-Up Guide, par. 9.4.3 Configuring the GNOME Software Updater... https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/startup/single-html/book.opensu… ...is not available on my system ("Software Settings" in the Settings app > All Settings isn't present.) What would be your preferred strategy to accomplish "never check for updates"? Hope you can help. Many thanks in advance. [opensuse] Thunderbird: 'autocrypt' and 'openpgp' appearing in HEADER

Some may have noticed that over the past couple of weeks or so that the 'Normal' header[1] in _some_ posts has suddenly been displaying new entries called 'autocrypt' and 'openpgp' with the former containing many lines of alpha-numeric characters. See here: http://susepaste.org/48357201 Having the Header filled with these alpha-numeric characters is a PITA, but this can be easily remedied by doing a minor edit in the about:config file. To do this go to: Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Config Editor Do a search for 'autocrypt' and _delete_ 'autocrypt openpgp' in the 'Value' field. No need to restart Thunderbird. [opensuse] x0.hosts and server interpreted entries

Hi list, I'm playing with VDR on my TW system. It is started via systemd, and is running as another user (vdr). So the program is not allowed to open a window on my desktop :( I can overcome this using xhost si:localuser:vdr So following the xhost manpage, I put this in /etc/X0.host: si:localuser:vdr local: the second line is for testing. Because if I start the machine and type xhost, what I get is access control enabled, only authorized clients can connect LOCAL: So the si entry is ignored :(( Why isn't that working? I tried both capital and normal si, no way. All other settings do work, just not the si: one. Does anyone know the proper way to get this setting done permanently?
