Hi, I'm researching for a new laptop. I think the main issue is video. Is there a manufacturer I should avoid (NVidia/AMD) ? I like this one : HP Probook 450 G5 Notebook with Intel® i7-8550U (1.8GHz, 8MB Cache, 4 cores) and 2GB Discrete NVIDIA Graphics - 1LU52AV NVIDIA graphix is GeForce 930MX. [opensuse] Persistent Leap 15 Live USB ?

[opensuse] Thunderbird: 'autocrypt' and 'openpgp' appearing in HEADER

Some may have noticed that over the past couple of weeks or so that the 'Normal' header[1] in _some_ posts has suddenly been displaying new entries called 'autocrypt' and 'openpgp' with the former containing many lines of alpha-numeric characters. See here: http://susepaste.org/48357201 Having the Header filled with these alpha-numeric characters is a PITA, but this can be easily remedied by doing a minor edit in the about:config file. To do this go to: Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Config Editor Do a search for 'autocrypt' and _delete_ 'autocrypt openpgp' in the 'Value' field. No need to restart Thunderbird. [opensuse] x0.hosts and server interpreted entries

Hi list, I'm playing with VDR on my TW system. It is started via systemd, and is running as another user (vdr). So the program is not allowed to open a window on my desktop :( I can overcome this using xhost si:localuser:vdr So following the xhost manpage, I put this in /etc/X0.host: si:localuser:vdr local: the second line is for testing. Because if I start the machine and type xhost, what I get is access control enabled, only authorized clients can connect LOCAL: So the si entry is ignored :(( Why isn't that working? I tried both capital and normal si, no way. All other settings do work, just not the si: one. Does anyone know the proper way to get this setting done permanently? Hi, all -- I hate printers, but ... you just can't get away from them, and it would be helpful to be able to print from my laptop instead of needing to go and borrow another. Ugh. I tried the YaST "Add New Printer" config and I can talk to it but cannot find any drivers when I search for "photosmart". Does anyone have any pointers to the simplest way to set up this sucker? Note that this is a older multi-function inkjet that probably relies on the PC to do the composition work, so my laptop will likely need a driver that will lay out the page and then send the rendered finished version for printing. Oh for the simple days of a LaserJet III that handled whatever you threw at it! :-) Anyway, I'd love any tips. Yes, I like the YaST-on-demand-way of updating (which can be done at times when there is sufficient bandwidth) and uninstall + taboo the packagekit packages. I'm updating a Tumbleweed system, which is basically up to date. The thing that remains is below. I'm not sure what the best answer is. I would suspect that it is Solution 3.
