[opensuse] Problems with Netflix remain in Firefox 60.0

I am running leap 42.3 and have just upgraded Firefox to 60.0. I have removed all of the vendor specific Flash option I had previously installed for YouTube. I still receive the message: Netflix Video Player Unavailable We're having trouble playing Netflix on your browser. Please make sure you have an official version of Firefox. Error Code:F7355 I have spent more than an hour with Netflix support and cannot get them to tell me what they video player they are looking for. I find it sad the level of expertise present in commercial online support. Does anybody have any suggestions? Many others say the have it working, so I find this a real nuisance. [opensuse] repodata

Anyone know what is going on with the standard opensuse repos? I am getting this error for both the oss and non-oss repositories: File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/non-oss/' The url is the one that comes directly from the opensuse website. Checking on that side, the folder /repodata does not exist. [opensuse] Firefox 60: problem with tumblr

When I open my tumblr page in firefox now it appears as if I would have been logged out, or the cookie deleted. But when I click on the tumblr logo, a new window opens with my dashboard and I am obviously already logged in. If from that dashboard I try to open any link to any other tumblr (or to mine) in a new tab or window, again I have the "logged-out-view", eg no reblog, like icons and that stuff you have when logged in. How can I make that I stay logged in in several tabs, windows? This is quite strange... [opensuse] DBus type services in Systemd user mode

Hi, I am having an issue with starting Systemd services with Type=dbus in Systemd's user mode on openSUSE Leap 42.3. Specifically I am trying to use GameMode [1] but the problem seems to be a generic one. E.g., I have found several services in /usr/lib/systemd/user/ that have Type=dbus, are shipped with openSUSE, fand fail to start. E.g.: > systemctl --user start gvfs-daemon Failed to start gvfs-daemon.service: Unit dbus.socket failed to load: No such file or directory. There indeed is no dbus.socket file in /usr/lib/systemd/user/. Should there be? I'd assume that gvfs-daemon and glib-pacrunner are actually used in Gnome, so how can they be launched then? Any hints as to where I went wrong would be highly appreciated. [opensuse] rpmbuild and %%ARCH%%

I am using rpmbuild to make an RPM. I want to set the file name of the RPM by this option: --define "_rpmfilename %%{NAME}-%%{VERSION}-%%{ARCH}.rpm" My .spec file has this: Name: SomeName Version: SomeVersion The NAME and VERSION in the generated name are fine. But the ARCH is a mystery. It gets set to "i586". On the build system, "uname -a" reports: Linux os13-1 3.11.6-4-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 30 18:04:56 UTC 2013 (e6d4a27) i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux So I would expect any of these: i686 athlon i386 Not i586. What I really want is what "uname -i" provides. Which is "i386". But I do not seem to get that. Is there an RPM macro that is what uname -i lists? I have looked around in what rpmbuild --showrc reports. But I do not see this. The reason I want to use a variable here is that this should also build on a x86_64. On that type of system rpmbuild uses the expected value. [opensuse] Yast module to configure ACPI power-button to suspend?

All, I'm looking for the openSuSE way to configure my laptop power-button to suspend instead of power-off. Is there a yast module or some similar app for tweaking ACPI config that avoids writing a custom event-handler from scratch? Is there a current event-handler that can be tweaked? I would like the power-button to activate suspend just like lid-close does. Is it customary and usual for User nobody to have /bin/bash as a shell? It seems that Opensuse is the only linux I have that allows this. [opensuse] jwplayer playback in Firefox 52ESR - missing codec?

I don't generally have problems playing videos around the Internet but I've stumbled across one that causes issues on my Leap 42.3 machine. See for example this page (the large video at the top): https://retro.tcl.fr/les-travaux-du-metro-de-la-croix-rousse/ I only see a black background with a badly coded (only partially visible) and annoyingly blasé message at the top saying 'in order to view the video, update your browser.' I'm on the standard Firefox 52.8.0ESR release from the Leap update repo. If I try with the latest Opera I see the video keyframe but playback still fails. However, on another box running a different Linux distro and with Firefox 58.0.2 (Quantum) the video plays fine. The info on the video leads me to jwplayer.com, where all the demo videos play fine on my openSUSE machine, so since it seems to be HTML5-based I don't know what specific codec this troublesome video is using. [opensuse] copying photos from iPhone to Leap 42.3

I'm trying to copy some photos from an iPhone to my openSUSE 42.3 box and am getting myself confused. Can anybody tell me the best way to do it, or point me to some simple but complete instructions? I've been following instructions from various web pages. I found something called ifuse and installed that. I plugged in the phone to a USB port and clicked Allow on the dialog the phone presented asking permission for the PC to access stuff. Leap asked me whether I wanted to open a file manager for the device, so I said yes and it opened PCManFM, and in the list of places at the left it showed an ejectable filesytem for the phone, but no photos and I couldn't figure how to access them. Following another hint, I started shotwell (not a program I normally use) and it came up and showed me all the photos on the phone, so at least I know that the USB connection is working. So I clicked on Import All but it failed to import any photos. The log is full of lines like: IMG_0003.JPG error message: [-107] Error retrieving file object for /store_feedface/DCIM/100APPLE/IMG_0003.JPG: Unknown error I can't even seem to find something that tells me where shotwell actually stores imported photos to double check. So I went back to PCManFM but now it isn't even showing the phone's filesystem! Help! [opensuse] It's all my fault

Hi, I gooned it up. I downloaded the tarball for rkhunter-1.4.4 from SourceForge some time ago, extracted it, and moved it to it's own folder before installing it. A few days ago, I downloaded the tarball for rkhunter-1.4.6 from SourceForge, extracted it, and installed it from the Downloads folder. I didn't move it to the folder that contained rkhunter-1.4.4. Now, rkhunter won't work. When I try to run rkhunter, konsole can't find it (opensuse leap 15.0). I tried to run rkhunter-1.4.4 and it brings the same result. I uninstalled rkhunter-1.4.4 using ./installer.sh --remove, same for rkhunter-1.4.6. Then I tried to install rkhunter-1.4.6 using ./installer.sh --install. The readout in konsole says its installed, but konsole readout says it can't find it. I then used dolphin to find every file for rkhunter, and removed them. then I tried to install rkhunter-1.4.6 using ./installer.sh --install. It installs perfectly, but when I try to run it, konsole can't find it. How do I fix this?
