[opensuse] Sitten, VS: Autonomous Postauto rams delivery van

Wednesday afternoon in Sitten (VS), an auto-piloted Postauto hit a parked delivery van. The autonomous Postauto trial service has been temporarily suspended while the incident is being investigated. The Postauto carried 3 passengers. [opensuse] my journal file is too big

On my desktop, my journal directory in /var/log/journal/ is 2GB in size. It has filled up my root partition and so now dracut won't let me update my kernel with the latest update. This page gives some idea of what to do: https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Limit_the_size_of_.log_files_%26_t… Here it says: -------------------- How to set a maximum size limit for the journal There is usually no need to interfere with the maximum size of the journal, as it has been built to monitor the amount of free space on the partition where it exists & will shrink itself by deleting the oldest entries when a shortage of space demands it. Use your favourite text editor with root priviliges, (starting it with sudo will do the job). A simple edit of the /etc/systemd/journald.conf allows you to set the maximum size limit of the /var/log/journal . ---------------------- The thing is, if there is usually no need to interfere with the maximum size, then there must be something wrong if something like a kernel update can't find enough room to finish. The kernel update came through on a zypper up command. Can anyone help? Should I just go into the journald.conf and adjust the parameter to limit the file size? [opensuse] leap421 - latest updates has really screwed up the video

My test system anyway - it's actually been running fairly well, I was thinking of promoting it to my main desktop. Well, I've just applied the latest updates, and video is now borderline unusable. Every time I scroll (firefox or konsole), I have heavy flickering, same when I swap windows. Scrolling in konsole is highly inconsistent - sometimes the bottom-most line remains fixed, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have a full scroll-bar, sometimes only part of it. When I swap windows, sometimes I get a somewhat entertaining mix of everything. Moving a window causes heavy flickering. [opensuse] Kmail2 cannot decrypt certain emails

I use Kmail2 as part of Kontact 5.1.3 and I'm having a problem receiving encrypted email from a friend. He has a Hotmail account and has sent me two emails: one from the web client and one from Thunderbird. Both are problematic. Here's what happens: Via webmail: The email isn't detected as encrypted, i.e. I see the text in its encrypted state and there's no option to decrypt it. Via Thunderbird: I don't even see text, I just see two attachments, PGPMIME version identification, and encrypted.asc It should be noted that I can receive encrypted email from another friend just fine. Also, if the problematic emails are saved locally and viewed in KGPG, I can read them. From what I've read it may be something to do with the fact that the problematic emails are sent in quoted-printable format...? Any ideas what's going on? Kind regards, Huw

[opensuse] Porting Openboard to openSuse

Hello, I am a teacher and I've been user of openSankore, which is an open source software for interactive whiteboards. Previous versions of openSuse had a built package to install through One-click-install. But it seems that openSankore has been left since the newest version is a little bit old. Actually, there is no package for Leap. Otherwise, I have realized that there is a fork of that project called OpenBoard which has more recent versions. But unfortunately there isn't any opensuse version. They offer the source code to be compiled by yourself which is far from my possibilities. http://openboard.ch/index.en.html Is there someone that could do it for me?
