[opensuse] Can't access Windows 10 shares

One thing I've noticed is I can no longer access Windows 10 file shares, since updating to Windows 10. Even though they're visible on other Windows computers, I cannot see them under SMB shares. [opensuse] Looking for recommandations for an usb sound card SVP

Hello all, Would anyone please be kind enough to post their recommendations for an usb sound card for either Leap or Factory for my laptop which will be playing DJ? My goal is to play a few sets of music (with friends on a regular basis) and I do not know what to buy. My research suggests that the Terratec Aureon would work with linux without problems. However I also believe that the Xonar U3 would work as well and sound even better. Does anyone have any recommendations for more a recent usb sound card that would work and sound even better? [opensuse] openSUSE Science Repository problem?

I am trying to get the RPM for python-matplotlib-1.5.1-4.1.x86_64.rpm from http://download.opensuse.org (which currently resolves to opensuse.c3sl.ufpr.br) and I can see it in the directory listing, but when I try to download it, I get the error: Not Found The requested URL /repositories/science/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/x86_64/python-matplotlib-1.5.1-4.1.x86_64.rpm was not found on this server. Does anyone know of another mirror for the openSUSE Science Repository that I could try? -- JY ------------------------------------------------------------ John E. [opensuse] ssh questions

I'm very new to SSH so I have a few questions that will be obvious to many of you. I've been following through the guide at https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configure_openSSH which is rather outdated but the basics are still relevant. So until now I've succeeded in connecting between machines on the same network, browsing and copying files remotely, launching YaST in ncurses mode to do remote updates, etc. All fine. I now want to connect to a machine on another network (in another country). I realize that I've probably fallen at the first hurdle, since although I configured some basics on that remote machine, I never added a line to hosts.allow with the address of my computer here at home, and hosts.deny is set to refuse ALL other connections. Presumably, since I therefore currently have no access at all, I'll have to speak to the user of that remote machine and have them log in as root and add the relevant line to the hosts.allow file? Related to that, whilst the remote user's IP address is dynamic and their ISP charges a fee to switch to static, would I get around that by associating their domain name to their connection with reverse DNS? And if so, what are the implications of doing so? Could that result in increased snoops/attacks or wider broadcast of their domain? And then how do I specify which machine at their end, behind their router, my SSH command goes to? Until now I've only been specifying local addresses, e.g. 192.168.0.10. Is this even how it works? I cannot find anything relating to that in any other SSH articles or guides I've googled for, which makes me think the concept is different. Is the machine effectively specified by the port number I assign, meaning I should assign different port numbers for every device? I'd have thought that was one of the fundamental things anybody wants to do with SSH yet none of the many SSH pages I've pulled up explains anything about this. [opensuse] Wireshark busted

There was a recent Wireshark update and now it doesn't work. If I try to start it from the command line, I get the error message "wireshark: error while loading shared libraries: libwiretap.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". However, the Wireshark file list shows /usr/lib64/libwiretap.so.6, which is linked to libwiretap.so.6.0.0. I then created a libwiretap.so.5 link to libwiretap.so.6.0.0 and it now chokes on libwireshark.so.6, but libwireshark.so.8 is there. [opensuse] Apache SSO AD Windows Domain

Hi, I am trying to get apache working with Single Sign On on our windows domain. We are using Leap 42.1 Server Minimal Text Mode with apache / php5 This server is for OS Ticket which I already have working with LDAP but need to get single sign on working so users authenticate automatically.. I have set up Yast > Windows Domain Membership and I can log in as a domain user successfully. I cannot quite get my head around how this works. Where do I go from here to configure apache to work with active directory? [opensuse] PAM configuration for single user / rescue mode

I have questions especially for the SystemD gurus. I am trying to setup an PAM 2-factor-authentication. The first factor is username/password. The second factor is a device (Yubikey). This works as expected. But I want to have an easy-to-use rescue mode. For instance the following conditions may result in a system where nobody can log in: 1. The network is down. Yubikey needs (in default "client mode") a working Internet connection. 2. The device (Yubikey) is lost or unavailable. 3. The Yubiley PAM configuration is somehow broken. 4. The computer boots in rescue mode and there is only user "root" available and network is down. My first idea was to exclude user "root" from the 2-factor-authentication. But this is not ideal. Especially in openSUSE (with openSUSE's way to configure "sudo" where root's password should be typed in if the user want's to switch to root) the root password is often typed in and should be better protected. Now I created a special user "rescue". This is the only user which may login only with username/password. The configuration for "login" looks as follows: #%PAM-1.0 auth requisite pam_nologin.so auth [user_unknown=ignore success=ok ignore=ignore auth_err=die default=bad] pam_securetty.so auth [default=1 success=ignore] pam_succeed_if.so quiet user != rescue # <- user "rescue" skips next entry auth requisite pam_yubico.so id=16 authfile=/etc/yubikeyid # <- Yubikey authentication in client mode auth include common-auth account include common-account password include common-password session required pam_loginuid.so session include common-session session optional pam_mail.so standard session optional pam_ck_connector.so With special "sudo" configuration (not shown here) user "rescue" can modify the PAM configuration and temporary disable the Yubikey device authentication. Now my question are: * Which PAM configuration file in /etc/pam.d is used for single user / rescue mode of SystemD? * Is it possible to login another user except "root"?
