[opensuse] Does 13.2+ work with shorewall properly yet? Read about wicked/systemd woes

Good day, I am trying to find out of shorewall is supposed to work with 13.2 properly, as I read about systemd stuff being in the midst of creation and wicked and sort of that things that make it problematic to run something different from susefirewall2. [opensuse] Missing 32bit vaapi-intel-driver for 42.1

Hi, openSUSE Leap does not provide a 32bit vaapi-intel-driver package. Arch does: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/lib32-libva-intel-driver/ Debian and Ubuntu do as well via multiarch. Should I file a bug report or are there reasons for a missing 32bit package? [opensuse] wicd instead of network manager enabled after install, wifi not working

Hello, I have a desktop computer which has a PCI Wi Fi card. Internet is only available via Wi Fi. When I installed OnepSuSe LEAP, it started up and Wi Fi was not working. I went into YaST and found that "Wicked services" was set as the network setup manager, but I found no way to start wicd. So I was stuck without it. When I (with some prompting from IRC) switched the setting to Network manager, YaST wanted to install a package and the Internet was not there. Thankfully I got around this by getting an open wifi network up temporarily and connecting to it using iwconfig. Now everything works and there is a nice Network Manager widget in the KDE system tray. [opensuse] Slower download in browsers

Hello, Sorry for the flood of threads - I'm giving a new install a good test run here. My broadband gives me 30 Mbit/sec download. The WiFi link is more than that at 144. When I use wget on the Leap box to download something bit, I get the expected speeds of somewhat over 3 megabytes per second. However, downloads in browsers (Chrome, Firefox) are noticeably slower, up to a third slower even. And speed tests in browsers give erratic download results - around 15-20 MBit/sec. (The tests work fine on WIndows and Android systems on the same network). What could be the problem and how can I fix it, if it can be fixed at all? [opensuse] KDE kruler always in the foreground

Hello: In KDE3 I frequently used kruler and it was always on the top layer (foreground), other windows couldn't cover it. It's a useful behavior when you want to measure distances. In KDE4 kruler is not always in the foreground, other windows can cover it. How can I set it to be always in the foreground, like in KDE3? [opensuse] "space nearly exhausted"

Hello, I have Leap, freshly installed on a desktop machine. Each time I install a package using YaST I get a "disk space nearly exhausted" warning for /vol/oldhome1. It really is sort of exhausted (591M available out of 1.1T, so less than 1%). But this is just an older HDD with older data, no installation goes there. I do select "do not show this message again" and I get it again the next time I install something. [opensuse] can not start yast2 in alternative session

Hello: This is in openSUSE 13.1 with its default kDE4 desktop. If I login as user1 at the first desktop session I can start yast2 from the start menu. If user2 logs in at the first desktop session and I login as user1 at the second desktop session, I cannot start yast2 from the start menu. If I click the application, nothing happens. If I try to run yast2 in a konsole I don't get a response either: ~> /usr/bin/xdg-su -c /sbin/yast2 # I copied this command from kicker menu the prompt does not return and yast window does not open. [opensuse] DHCPv6-PD request

My ISP is finally rolling out IPv6. One thing that's required is for the router to make a DHCPv6-PD request to get the prefix info etc. I don't know if my router/firewall, based on openSUSE 13.1 is doing that. I don't see anything in Wireshark that would indicate it's making that sort of request. I'm also not aware of any configuration that would enable it.
